Services
The Hillier family have been engaged in sympathetic, yet efficient service through four generations of funeral directors. When Harold Hillier established the company the dust had only just settled after World War 1. He saw service in the Royal Flying Corps, flying De Havilland 9 A Bombers. He was born in Swindon in 1900 the same year as Queen Elizabeth, George VI' wife.
Hillier Funeral Service has a proud tradition of providing funeral care to the families of Swindon and the surrounding areas for four generations. Mark Hillier took over running the company from his father Michael in 1993, expanding the range of services available, providing uniquely tailored funerals for bereaved families.
We know for many of the families, bereavement is one of the most traumatic events they will be confronted with. Our highly trained staff will assist you professionally in the practical issues of arranging the funeral and will support you with compassion through this difficult time.
We are committed to supporting families after the funeral with our Bereavement Care service, where you are able to talk to someone in complete confidence who will understand how you are feeling. We can visit your home or you can visit our Head Office in Victoria Road, our Chapel of Rest in Whitworth Road, or our Highworth Office & Chapel to do the arrangement.

The hospital or nursing home staff will make arrangements for the doctor to issue the Medical Certificate of Cause of Death (MCCD) and the doctor's surgery will advise you when it is available. Let the home or hospital know which funeral director you have chosen to save any confusion or delay when a death occurs and if a cremation or burial has been decided.
There have been some changes to the normal death registration process. These are to facilitate social distancing practices and to make the process easier. As a result, a death is currently registered via a telephone appointment with the registry office. The first step is to contact the doctor (GP) or hospital about obtaining the Medical Certificate of Cause of Death (MCCD).

I would like to commend Hiller funeral directors for dealing with my mum`s funeral arrangement.
Becky took great care of us at a difficult time.
The staff are very professional and helpfully and on the actual funeral day was very nice and ran so smoothly.
They know their job inside out and did everything possible to make sure we were informed and understood everything that was going to happen.
I cannot thank them enough for the lively service received.
I highly recommended them to everyone.

Professional, compassionate service, all the staff I dealt with went the extra mile to ensure that my husband's funeral reflected his personality. They helped make it possible for my mad, 03:00 am, idea of letting people who attended take a bottle from his wine collection away to 'raise a glass to him' later that weekend to be easily added. Nice to see that idea isbeen being offered with their services now, I know many of my late husband's friends and relatives appreciated this as we could not hold a wake.
