A community-owned, Grade II listed, traditional Dales pub at the heart of the picturesque village of Gunnerside in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Serving local ales, good quality food and offering traditional pub entertainment. The Kings Head has been through some changes recently, but we're back with a bang.
Redecorated throughout, owned by the community and under new management. At its heart the offer is the same as it has always been; fantastic local ales, home cooked food from local suppliers and a warm, friendly welcome. Gunnerside is in the heart of Swaledale, the most beautiful of the Yorkshire Dales (well we think so, anyway).

We absolutely loved this Pub during our Holiday to Gunnerside. Very welcoming and friendly. Menu changes regularly keeping the choice fresh and varied and the food is delicious. We were made to feel so welcome on every visit and the space is warm and inviting. We will definitely be back when in the area.

We really enjoyed our trip the the King's Head for a relaxed dinner. The food was great, perfectly spiced and seasoned with a lovely range on a well thought out menu. We felt that it was really well priced for the quality of food and drink. 4 local ales on hand pumps which were well kept, and a wide range of gins along with other drinks. The service was friendly and relaxed while efficient. We aren't in Swaledale for long but we would like to return before we leave.

Arrived at the King's head close to 2pm at which point food stops. However, we were welcomed with open arms. The food is classic pub fair but exceptional. Ham, eggs and chips, Haddock and chips and Scampi and chips all amazing. Lovely house beers and decent wine selection. Prices were very reasonable. Definitely going to return when we visit the area again.
