Services
The Translation Booth was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 2009. We provide bespoke language services, calling on carefully selected linguists, researchers and document specialists. We have worked extensively in law, finance and engineering; both locally and abroad. The company is run by professional translators, making it unusual for a translation agency.
Our translations are professionally and ethically sourced and undergo strict quality controls. We work with our clients to create translations that are compliant and consistent with their existing corporate style or branding strategy. If document security levels prevent you from sharing documents outside your organisation we can come to you.
We know that financial translation requires an understanding of accounting standards and procedures from country to country. The presentation of facts and figures can also differ, and often, company policy dictates a particular corporate style. We strive to provide document translations that are appropriate for their target audiences and are in line with your other corporate communications.
Technical Translations require skill and attention to detail. The target audience is paramount: for example, a specifications sheet for engineers should not be translated the same way as a set of technical instructions for customers. We have extensive experience translating technical texts and our QA processes guarantee accurate and reliable translations.
We enjoy working with academics and researchers on whatever they throw at us: from music to law to chemistry. We do plenty of research at our end and our translators come from a range of academic and professional backgrounds, meaning there is always someone suitable to translate your specialist work and to discuss writing style.

I needed translations of education-related documents from Russian to English and Carrie from The Translation Booth Ltd has done an amazing job. The documents were quite tricky, with handwritten parts and some terms which were very specific to Russian education system. Carrie delivered prompt translation which was of the highest quality. I recently got married in Crete, Greece and to do so you are required to have all your official British documents translated into Greek by a certified translator.
Carrie from the translation booth was the most helpful person at this very confusing time during our wedding planning/prep stage. We had lots of questions about the documents and getting them translated and she went to every length to try and answer them.
