Hansfords was founded in 1908 by Joscelyn Hansford who passed it on to his son Don and is now owned by his grandson Matthew. It is now thriving as a specialist menswear clothing store in the centre of the historic City of Chichester. This website aims just to give you a small insight into what our store can offer you.
Hansfords is truly a family business. Such was its success that Joscelyn Hansford was able to expand his business to open additional stores in the popular seaside towns of Littlehampton, Brighton and Worthing. However, during WWII a shortage of goods and lack of staff forced their closure and it wasn't until after the war when Matthew's father, Don Hansford, joined the company that another store was opened.
Hansfords offer an amazing collection of menswear, specialising in quality brands such as Meyer trousers and Bugatti clothing from Germany, Oscar shirts from Sweden, Barker shoes of Northampton amongst many other highly respected manufacturers.
Hansfords offer a unique blend of high quality materials in designs to meet all tastes, whether it be for the classic traditional man, or the more contempory one wanting something more casual and colourful; we are known for our unrivalled collection of printed shirts and those with a interesting twist.

Hansfords Menswear is probably the largest stockist of these shirts in the UK. And here we try to give some insight into this unique brand, whose distinctive use of contrasting and patterned interior collar and cuff trims, combined with extremely high quality fabrics and superb make quality, has led to them being so successful.
We are proud to announce that amongst the wide array of quality items in Hansfords, we are now stocking the celebrated brand Barbour - famous for it's waxed jackets. The Barbour brand sits perfectly with Hansfords' high expectations and family business ethos. Its story began back in 1894 at 5,M arket Place in South Shields and today the 5th generation family-owned business still has its headquarters in the North East.

Good selection of high quality clothing, plenty of colourful shirts, shorts and jackets.
Pricing tends to be expensive but 20% in the sale makes it reasonable, albeit still fairly high.
Service is usually knowledgeable, helpful and friendly, today was the first time I've experienced someone who really didn't know too much about the products or process.
Always worth a look, if you're in Chichester.

A wonderful men's wear shop with a wide range of high quality clothing, shoes, suits, jackets and all sorts of unique accessories really is a great one stop shop for any smart occasion. As someone who doesn't like shopping I would highly recommend a visit if you like something a little different from what everyone else has go and check it out.
