We recognise that coming into a care home can be difficult and a stressful time for you and your family. We will do everything we can to make your arrival as welcoming as possible and to help you quickly settle into your new home, assisted by our expert staff to guide you through every step. Our home has a full programme of activities organised by our Activities Co-Ordinator.
This includes social, recreational and therapeutic activities, which cover a wide range of interests and preferences. My mother has received excellent care from all the staff at Delph House, from the first time she came into contact with them at her initial assessment, to now nearly 6 months on.

Services
Our goals of care are to make the individual as happy and comfortable as possible, given their abilities, for as long as possible. We recognise that the move to a care facility is a difficult transition, not only for the individual but also for their family. We see families as partners in providing the best quality long-term care.
We believe that every individual has physical, psychological, spiritual and socio-cultural needs, and when an elderly person requires long-term care, these needs continue to be experienced. We believe that the term 'family' is meant in the widest possible sense of the word - this may include extended family, close friends, ex-carers, and pets.
We can OFFER help with a short stay (minimum of two weeks) with us, however, we can offer longer if required. With 24 hour care, in a warm and comfortable environment where every need will be met, giving you peace of mind for your break. IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE we also have round the clock specialised nursing care.
The staff will have received 'In House' training and are required to complete an Induction Programme on commencement at Delph House. New staff will be required to complete The Care Certificate and then their NVQ Level 2 as per requirements from the Care Quality Commission. The individual Service User's agreed care plan provides the basis on which the staff at Delph House deliver care.
All laundry is carried out on the premises and will be collected from your room. Please ensure all personal items are labeled to avoid confusion and to ensure all clothing is returned to you. There are clothes bags available for relatives to separate personal clothes to be taken home and washed. We have Church of England AND COMMUNION SERVICES held at the home, the dates ARE displayed on the notice board in the reception area.

My dad has been residing at Delph House for over 5 months now and will be his permanent, nursing home. I had a choice of two other nursing homes, two others in Poole and I am so glad that I chose Delph House.
Home cooked food is prepared and baked in the home's kitchen and dad loves his food and he hasn't complained once of any meals! Fruit salad is given to dad, instead of cake in the mid morning and afternoon tea/coffee times, as he is a diabetic.
The staff are all very friendly, attentive and respectful of dad's personal care and needs, despite his aggressive ways with his dementia. I could

I would not rate Delph House at all. My Dad was put into this dreadful home, he was bedridden and had falls which were not reported to us. We visited every day and always checkd his Care Plan then one day we arrived at 15.30 and his Care Plan was signed off until 19.30 when in fact No care had been administered. To place a loved one in a Nursing Home is hard for a family but we now have to live with the memorie of what my Dad went through, We have tried to pursue our complaint but doors shut tightly. Thankfully my Dad was removed from this home within 48 hours. Hopefully care at this Home has improved
