42 St Giles' is a grade 2 listed building which was built in the 1760s. There is a listed boundary stone in the front garden. In its recent history, prior to our dental practice, 42 was used as offices and a shop. However, we are not the first dentists to have had a practice here as Mr William Geekie LDS lived and worked here between 1878 and 1932 and was succeeded by Miss Dorothy Smith LDS.
We aim to provide the best possible treatment for you and we constantly strive for excellence. Our two surgeries, on the first floor, are fully equipped for all aspects of contemporary dentistry. We believe that ethical dentistry offers the best care and that the best care results in less dentistry for you in the long term.
This offer is for a dental examination, small x-rays and the appointment will typically last 40 minutes. If you have an urgent dental problem, we will do our best to deal with that as well. Any treatment will be charged at our usual rates. This is suitable if you are in Oxford for a short time and need to keep up with your hygiene visits; it does not include an assessment.
If you are a patient of the practice and have a dental emergency, please ring 07765 474421 to speak to one of the dentists. Telephone advice is offered free of charge; a call-out fee in addition to the treatment costs will apply to practice visits.
If you are a Denplan patient and are away from home, please ring the appropriate number on your Denplan membership card (UK or Overseas) and Denplan will assist you in finding a dentist and the Denplan insurance will pay the dentist's fees.If the ache is constant and throbbing, please take some painkillers and contact us as soon as you are able to.

It also includes supplementary insurance, to provide cover if you have a dental injury or dental emergency. Denplan Essentials provides a fixed number of check-ups and cleaning/polishing appointments per year.

I had quite a lot of work done with Wendy and Alistair and was very happy with the quality of the treatment and the results. Any small issues i had where resolved quickly. The facilities are spotless and modern. After not being able/not wanting to see a hygenist during the pandemic, Wendy did some outstanding work.

I have visited this practice for the first time this week, after my tooth broke. Excellent and professional care, wonderful customer service and communication with a patient. Overall this was a very pleasant first time visit, during which my broken teeth was restored. Wendy and Alastair have been recommended to me by friends who have tried many other dental practices in Oxford. After my visit I completely understand why. I look forward using this dental practice again in the future with my family.

I have been to 42 St Giles a couple of times over the last year or so for hygiene appointments, fillings, and most recently a root canal. The staff at the practice are very helpful and friendly, and the treatments have been very efficient and painless. By far the best dental experience I've had! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for quality dental care.

Ok, just had root canal done in the US, and feel obligated to leave this review. I went to see Dr. Wendy Nash back in 2014 over a tooth problem, she prescribed my antibiotics, took X-ray and said she "did not see anything wrong with the tooth". Naively I believed, and had on and off problems for four years. Finally went to see the dentist here, who immediately referred me to a specialist. Turned out I had a root canal problem, which should have been detected back in 2014. Went untreated for four years. I have no clue why I wasn't told to take care of it back then, when it seems now that it should

I have been to this practice about a year ago just for a check.
This was for a possible orthodontic retainer and some fillings.
I felt very disappointed when I asked the doctor if a big swollen lymph node next to my jaw would contribute negatively to the motion of the jaw from its original position.
The answer was " no this is not a lymph node, it's a muscle"
This is to me extremely shaming that a dentist can't distinguish between a lymph node in the expertise area and a muscle.
The price for the treatment in the end was extremely high, crazy.
With the same price is better to go to Europe
