The Beach House, Milford On Sea
The Grade II listed Beach House was built in 1897 for Alexander Siemens (who created the world's first public electricity supply at Godalming) as a summer house for his family. Formerly known as Westover Hall, Hall & Woodhouse renamed it 'The Beach House' in 2012, to reflect how the Siemens family had always used it.

Built in the Arts and Crafts style it was judged the most luxurious residence on England's south coast and indeed the imposing stained glass windows portray Pre-Raphaelite scenes from the "The Enchanted Wood". With fantastic raised patio areas and extensive gardens the pub also boasts over 200 outside covers and affords great views across to The Needles and the Isle of Wight (on a clear day of course!).
Services
We've been working hard over the past few months to make sure all of our delicious food dishes are just that little bit better. As well as our usual favourites like Steak & Tangle Foot Pie, Hand-Battered Fish & Chips and our famous H&W Burger, we've also got a range of tasty sandwiches and of course our delicious Sunday Roasts, which we think are the best (apart from Mum's!).
We've sorted an amazing range of drinks for you to enjoy either with a meal or simply on their own. Our very own range of Badger Beers are only sold in Hall & Woodhouse pubs, so we can guarantee the very best quality cask and bottled ales brewed right in the heart of the Dorset countryside.

Alongside our beers we also have a comprehensive selection of lagers and ciders, together with an extensive wine list, with wines from all around the World and an ever increasing range of spirits, particularly local and regional gins.
One of the key attributes of the perfect English Country residence is that it is at the heart of its local community. That's why we believe it's so important to give something back and detailed below is just one thing we are doing locally to help out in a small way. Community is incredibly important to us and as part of this, we help to fundraise for a local charity.
Head northwest on New Street towards School Lane. Turn left onto Avenue Road/B3054 and then left onto Southampton Road/A337. Follow the A337 for around half a mile and at the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Milford Road/A337. After a further mile and a half turn left into Lymington Road /B3058 and continue on the B3058 for 2 miles.

Great place to eat, dining room really ornate, such a great pub and restaurant, food and service top notch. We had scotch egg and pigs in blanket sausage roll for starters, both were very good as we're the mains , steak ale pie with mash and veg and also my partner's plate of sea bream was very good too, will definitely be returning soon.

Dreadful....very expensive room, lovely bathroom and view however cleanliness of surfaces in bedroom left a lot to be desired. Room wasn't serviced by 3.00 pm awful...Breakfast cheap and nasty, toast served on same plate as food...evening meal, fish smelt stale...horrible experience...no mask wearing by staff, know its not obligatory at the moment but first hotel we have stayed where staff did not wear them...felt everything below standard...Brewery owned....not good...

Really super small hotel, great staff, our room was large and airy, slightly querky too get a sea view room if you can as the views are superb. Lovely terrace to sit and have a drink, all in all very peaceful and very clean.

This used to be a first class hotel and restaurant. Its grandeur is a little faded these days. However its still a nice experience we had a nice tea and cake. The rest of the customers seemed to be enjoying their lunch , the burgers and fish finger baguettes looked great. Nice views across to isle of Wight and staff very attentive and jolly.

Swanky place near the beach - beautiful house, clean premises, tasty food (the best mashed potatoes I've ever had so far) and good size portions, outside dining area is a nice bonus in summer. We only had our dinner there (sat outside on the terrace), so I cannot comment on the rooms and the inside dining areas.
Check the bathroom - this is one of the poshest I've seen in my life!

Lovely lunch sat outside overlooking the sea. Friendly service, great menu, delicious food & dog friendly. Very peaceful setting. We were lucky to get a table outside on the terrace at short notice. Highly recommended, this place is a little gem. Plenty of space on the lawn for children to run around with a perfect climbing tree!
