W F Dolman and Son have been serving Bath and the surrounding areas since 1919, and we have built up an exceptional reputation around the region for the high standard of service that we provide and our prompt and compassionate assistance. Losing a loved one can be extremely stressful and worrying for you and your family.
The doctor will attend and confirm the death. The attending doctor will determine if the deceased may be released into our care or if the coroner needs to be informed. Once the doctor's approval has been given to bring the deceased into our care, contact us so we can arrange a time to come to you. When a death occurs in a hospital, contact the hospital's Patient Affairs or Bereavement Centre who will explain what happens next.
W.F. Dolman and Son offer a 24-hour personal service - 365 days a year. We will arrange the transfer of the deceased into our care at any time of the day or night. Family and friends are welcome to visit our chapel by appointment to view the deceased and say their farewell. Transport is a key consideration when making funeral arrangements.
Pre-paid funeral plans help ease the pressure on your family and friends at a difficult and distressing time. Pre-paid funeral plans are provided exclusively by Golden Charter and can be tailored to your individual needs with the Golden Charter Independent Way plan. The cost of the funeral services can be made in full or by instalments and are paid directly to Golden Charter.

Catalogues are available for you to choose the coffin you would prefer and which ashes container if you require. A veneered oak coffin with solid oak mouldings and half round mouldings on the lid in a high gloss finish.

Always available, sympathetic and kind. My dad's funeral service, although in the middle of this covid pandemic, was handled with dignity and respect. The lovely celebrant that led the service, Paul's help in tracing the right music and his attendance on the day, everyone at Dolmans helped make the service warm and unhurried. Thank you.

Paul and his assistants provided an excellent service for us for my mother's funeral in December. Paul and Mrs Dolman were always sympathetic and helpful while we were making the arrangements; a difficult task (which included having Mum's body brought back from Plymouth, where she died) was made much easier by their professional and caring approach. While expense is not always the main concern in such matters, I can also say the cost of their services was less than I had expected, and very reasonable. I recommend them highly.
