Plastic injection trade moulders, specialising in development and production moulding and toolmaking. We make plastic parts to customer specifications, serving all industries. The customer's tools are stored for production of mouldings as and when required. Robert PD Frost & Co Ltd is a family business established in 1951 and has steadily grown ever since.
Initially Robert Frost manufactured models and instruments but his engineering skills increasingly led to work with injection moulds and plastic mouldings. The company grew around his love of problem solving and rising to challenges. Over 67 years later, we have earned a reputation for quality, reliability and value for money.

Services
Scope - 'Design, Development and Manufacture of Prototype and Production Injection Mould Tools, Production and Assembly of Injection Mouldings'. Retained since 2002 with no non-conformances raised at the annual external audits indicating our commitment to quality. Updated to ISO9001:2008 in 2010 which offered the opportunity to re-examine our Quality System and further improve our processes.
Getting a design right at the outset can save thousands of pounds over the life of a product. Alumec 89 tooling plate can be easily modified to further improve the finished product following sampling. Full P20 steel tools & steel inserts used for abrasive materials & high volume production jobs. We can read most file formats you can e-mail, post or fax your drawings, or use our Quote Form.
Our Plastic Injection Mould Tools are manufactured from Alumec 89 Tooling Plate and P20 steel. Alumec 89 is the ideal material for prototype moulds, being cheaper to produce exceptionally high quality moulds tools. These are capable of moulding extremely large quantities if required. For example, we have Alumec moulds that have done 340,000 shots with minimal maintenance.
Plastic injection mouldings up to 235g shot weight are produced in a wide variety of engineering polymers. Once samples have been approved, our customer's mould tools are stored ready for production orders of plastic parts as and when required. Our average delivery time is 3 weeks from order. Experienced Tool Setters and Machine Operators follow our detailed production and setting sheets to set and run each job.
Inserts are fabricated as required for overmoulding with the aid of Jigs manufactured in house. Pre and post injection moulding work is regularly carried out in our assembly room. We ream, pack, individually bag and add inserts and pins as required. We presently use 90 different inserts - standard inserts are held in stock and inserted in the tool prior to moulding or heat-sunk after moulding.
