We are an independent family run jewellers, started by George Banks at Lune Street in 1935 after several years as manager of Winters Jewellers in Orchard Street, eventually he was joined by his son Brian in the 40's and the business is now in the hands of the third generation John Banks.

Striving to be as personable and approachable as a jewellers can hope to be whilst understanding that purchasing and maintaining jewellery is a very special experience and is of upmost sentimental importance.We sell a wide range of jewellery, pre-owned premier watches, diamonds and wedding rings. Our bespoke service allows the dreams of even the most imaginative customer to be realised.

We provide a total after sales service on all watches, most watch battery, bracelet shortening and strap changes are done on site the same day. A battery and seal or full service will be completed by our accredited watchmakers or we can return to the official service centres for most brands, and estimate to repair.

Excellent quality service. When I needed a ring resized they managed to do what another high street jeweller couldn’t. My ring now fits perfect without any noticeable difference whatsoever to the ring itself. Thanks you so much for your kind service and impeccable work!

Fantastic repair after being let down by another jeweller. The team at George Banks handled the badly repaired ring by returning to Manufacturer and getting the ring back to 'as new' condition at a fraction of the cost the original repairer tried to charge us. Would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending George Banks to anyone. Thank you so much for restoring our faith.
