Glencoe & North Lorn Folk Museum
We are located in the heart of Glencoe Village, just off the A82 and close to the dramatic glen itself. There are daily Citylink buses from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, and frequent local buses running between Glencoe, Fort William and Oban. We are a 5 minute walk from the bus stop along a quiet, pretty street.

We have a small gift shop selling Scottish and locally-made crafts, jams, candles, tartans, magnets, soaps, jewellery, books and more. We also stock a variety of local interest pamphlets written by our founder, Barbara Fairweather. We love hearing from you, so if you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch!
Services
There are lots of ways you can get involved with the museum - and we're currently recruiting for our redevelopment project. Have a look below and find an opportunity that suits you! We invite competitive tenders from exhibition design and construction experts to design, produce and install permanent displays in a refurbished and extended museum.
Adopt one of our fascinating collection of over 5,000 artefacts - from an 18th century dress to pistols from Culloden, a historic steam locomotive nameplate and even a ceramic cat! Adopting an object makes a perfect quirky gift and helps protect our unique heritage - with prices to suit all pockets.

Small village museum in a thatched building with several rooms and a good collection. Some of the bits need updating/maintenance but they need people through the door paying the entry fee to support such things so definitely go if you’re in the area. The volunteers were very friendly and helpful.

For a small museum it has a lot of information and exhibits about the local area. From things like the Glencoe massacre to the ballachulish goddess there has to be at least 1 thing that interests you. There is a couple different buildings outside with exhibitions which explain certain events. Very good for £3

One of the loveliest wee museums we've visited. So much to see/read for a small installation. The staff make this place - very friendly and engaging!

Dinky museum running the gamut between domesticity, through the toughness of slate mining to the treachery and betrayal of massacre. I learned loads. Friendly helpful staff.

Great little museum originally established by a local lady with varied displays, some focused on the Glencoe massacre of 1792 - a terrible period of English history. Well worth £3 and a half hour.
