We are a small family run Norfolk Broads day boat hire business, our boats are powered by electric and diesel! Our self-drive day boats are available to hire all year round - by the hour, day or week. During low season ( November-March) please phone ahead as the boatyard may be closed. Situated the quiet side of Potter Heigham Bridge, all our day hire boats fit under Potter Heigham Bridge.
With some of our day boats fitted with blown air heating, it is a lovely way to spend a few hours on a winters day. Our self drive day hire boats can now be hired to people from your own household or support bubble. After each day boat hire we will be using a fogging system, this sprays a very fine mist of sanitising solution over every surface in the day boats and picnic boats.

Services
The first time driving a day hire boat can feel a bit daunting, but you will quickly get the hang of it with some instruction from one of our experienced boat operatives. A crew member unties the lines from the moorings on the waters edge and puts them securely in the boat. Gently push the throttle forward, when moving forward gently turn the boat in the direction that you want to travel.
We are situated in one of the quietest parts of the Norfolk Broads, 1 hours motor to Horsey Mere and wind pump with the National Trust tea room. 20 minuets motor to Potter Heigham, with fish and chip shop, Bridge Stores with take-a-way drinks, ice cream and sandwiches. Approaching Norwich take the A47 (Norwich southern bypass) towards Great Yarmouth, continue to Acle, then take the A1064 at the roundabout towards Martham.
Our much loved electric picnic boats are now available to buy. Low wash, state of the ack electric propulsion and they fit under Potter Height Bridge giving you access to the quietest part of the Norfolk Broads. The picnic day boats come with seating for either 8 or 12 persons or live abroad for two or four.

We had a wonderful day today on Rocket - the 8 seater electric day boat. Plenty of room, clean and comfortable. A comprehensive talk before setting off by the friendly, knowledgeable staff on how to sail the… boat and how to navigate the broads. This is our 2nd time hiring from Martham Ferry Day Boat hire and we would highly recommend them to anyone. Peacefull and relaxing way to see the broads. Give it a go...

We had a great afternoon out on a small electric boat. The staff were incredibly friendly. It is a family run business, I believe. They couldn't have been more friendly or helpful and made sure our few hours on the most peaceful part of the Broads were great fun. I thoroughly recommend using them. There is plenty of parking and they are very careful with their COVID-19 safeguarding measures, thus installing confidence when spending time on a boat. Thank you for providing such a great service. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Absolutely brilliant half day out on the broads aboard Apollo, hired from Martham Ferry Boatyard from 9-1, arrived at 845 and was driving the boat away from 9am. Good briefing and clear instructions on what way to go from the lady, and brilliant instruction on how to operate boat from the man.
The boat Apollo is very spacious and well… equipped, very easy to operate and so quiet. And what a lovely part of the broads this company is situated on. I prefer Martham over wroxham as the latter is far to busy.
Only one warning from me.... do not go down near horsey windmill in the Apollo boat.
