Norfolk Broads Boat Hire
The Norfolk Broads has provided the setting for boating holidays for over a hundred years and its popularity is no surprise given the tranquil nature of its waterways. First time cruisers will be particularly at home here with around 150 miles of lock free rivers.

A week or a short break can easily include discovering the unique countryside of this National Park together with time to spend in the fine city of Norwich or all the fun of the fair in Great Yarmouth.A boating holiday is a break the whole family can enjoy. Whether you are a first time hirer or a regular visitor, you will find everything you need here to book your ideal boating holiday.
Services
After having worked in the travel industry since leaving school in 1970, I launched Norfolkbroadsboathire.biz in 2008 with a mission to make the task of booking a Norfolk Broads boating holiday easier.

As a regular Broads hire fleet boater since 1973, I recognised that there was very little assistance for the first-time cruiser whether from the large boating agencies or from the hire boatyards and set about putting together a website which hopefully de-mystified and enlightened the decision making process. We are agents for Hoseasons and are paid a small commission for referring you to their holidays should you go on to make a booking.
If you have never been boating before, let alone on the Norfolk Broads, you are bound to have many questions such as "how far can we travel in a day", "how often will we need to fill up with water","are there plenty of places to stop and visit". The answers to these and hopefully any other question you can think of are answered below.
The Norfolk Broads consist of over 150 miles of navigable rivers and broads. As such it is easy to mistake the time it takes to travel from one destination to another. Below is a calculator which will determine not only the mileage between 37 points along the Norfolk Broads but will also estimate a length of time for the journey.
This boat steers from the front and so houses the helm position in the lounge area. It also offers a sliding wheelhouse which allows for open air dining in good weather. Not all boats have sliding wheelhouses though those that do not will offer a sliding roof similar to that in a car. A dining table is housed out of site to save space but is easily erected for meals.
It's one thing to book a boat for a few days or a week, but another to work out where you can cruise to and to plan the holiday in advance so you get the most from those days afloat. So to help with this, we have come up with a set of suggested itineraries, or route plans, for three, four and seven night holidays, starting from our hire bases across the Norfolk Broads.

We very disappointed as weve been on day boats before and found this one very sluggish and extremely difficult to steer. So no more for us in future

As we are visiting the Norfolk Broads for the first time In June decided to see just what information was out there. Just playing around on google and came across this website. So impressed on the information for not only first time boaters but also first timers to the Broads. Contacted David Hearn and although we had not booked our boat through… him he was able to suggest a 7 day itinerary that would suit us. I would certainly recommend that anyone intending visiting the Broads look out this website. Loads of information on where to moor, distances, pubs, routes and so much more.
