I started playing the piano when I was 7 and later through a music scholarship at school, achieved Grade 8 (ABRSM) aged 16 and experienced many opportunities to perform and accompany. I went on to gain the Advanced Certificate in Piano (ABRSM) and have successfully completed a Diploma in Piano Teaching (ABRSM).
After a 17 year career in adult education and family learning which involved working with adults, teenagers and families with very diverse needs, I have returned to my first love and now teach the piano privately. Over the years I have accompanied for a ballet class, local choirs and instrumentalists and am now a keen member of The Oxford Piano Group.

It is never too late to learn an instrument. Whether you are an adult beginner or an adult returner, playing the piano offers many benefits such as keeping your mind active, expressing yourself creatively and experiencing the sheer joy of playing music! Adults can be nervous about returning to learning so my background in adult education means I have a lot of experience in supporting and building a student's confidence.
