Travel is a huge passion of ours and we firmly believe that adventure is out there for all to experience. Yours truly was diagnosed with a serious case of Wanderlust many moons ago, for those who are unaware of this condition, it is a wish to travel far away and to many different places and there is no cure.
Named after Dolly Day Dreamer (yours truly), one of our favourite walks in the lakes Dollywagon Pike, and - wait for it - Dolly Parton, have you seen the red spoilers! In Starlight blue she really is an all singing, all dancing head turner. Dixie sports a rare Kurkuma Yellow the younger of our vans is 'The Show Girl'.
If you have a small budget then people swear by 'Brit Stops'. This is a collection of farms, pubs, breweries and other businesses, which allow campervans to park for free overnight on their land; in return you buy their products. It is also worth popping you head in to a local business, smiling and asking if it is possible to pay for parking and spend you holiday pennies with them and support local businesses.
Thank you to Lakes Escape Campers for letting us take Dixie out on her first trip to Scotland. The weather was on our side and we had a brilliant time visiting Braemar, Loch Ness, Oban and Solway Firth, A big thank you to Zoe and Andy for there brilliant service and we would highly recommend. Just arrived home after a Scottish road trip in Dolly and what an amazing time we've had!

Unfortunately this review is a lot later than we planning.
We saw an advert on Facebook during one of the lockdowns and our interest started . Then we found the website and decided to go on a little adventure with the lady herself Dixie. I checked for dates and then contacted the wonderful Zoe to ask if we could first take Dixie over the water to Ireland and also would we be able to take our dog with us and the answer was yes and yes.
We were asked to watch the videos on how to us Dixie and we were also given a quick run through when we went to pick her up.

This weekend was unbelievable I can't actually wait to hire again for longer from you again! Our break away was much needed and it really shown how much fun we could have in a camper.

Just arrived home after a Scottish road trip in Dolly, what an amazing time we’ve had! My boyfriend loved the van and is now wanting to save up and buy one of his own! Zoe and Andrew were both lovely, so easy to deal with and we’re there if we had any questions. Absolutely loved the whole experience, we will be back! Even Steve the doggo didn’t want it to end! X

Just back from a fabulous weekend away in Dolly. We hired Dolly and am awning for a weekend in the lakes. My husband is a VW fan and he thoroughly enjoyed driving Dolly and as a family of 2 adults and 2 children we had every amenity we could possible need. Would like to say a big thank you to Zoe and Andrew for helping me plan this surprise trip from helping with camp sites to a lovely gift of beers in the fridge. Nothing was to much bother and it made our trip fantastic. We will be back.

We had a fantastic week with Dolly and couldn't have asked for a better host in Zoe and team. The van was spectacularly clean and so well equipped. We came up from London and the free pick up and drop off from Oxenholme station was ideal and extremely efficient. 100% will be recommending to friends and family and we will be back to see Dolly very soon!! Thank you!!

We've just returned from our second camper van holiday in Dolly and following Zoe's brilliant advice, we drove to Solway Firth in Scotland, which is a 2 hour drive from Kendal.
What an absolutely stunning area. We stayed in a quiet sandy bay with some of the best coastal walks and paddle boarding spots in Britain. What a way to spend the bank holiday weekend!!!
Dolly was immaculate as before, with everything we could have needed. We also hired the large awning which gave us even more space and comfort for the teenage kids, we'd definitely recommend that for a long weekend.
We're back home now

We had an amazing time travelling round the lake district in Dolly, a long wheel base VW camper van! Zoe and Andrew, who we rented from were brilliant, with excellent communication and so so helpful. When we arrived to pick Dolly up we were greeted with such a warm welcome. They took time to show us everything we might need to know as we hadn't been in a camper before. Also the van is kitted out with just about everything you could possibly need for the trip. Zoe and Andrew have spent a good amount of time camping in Dolly themselves so they know from experience what is needed and are committed

We would highly recommend Andrew and Zoe’s camper vans, they couldn’t have been more helpful, showing us the van and providing helpful videos, plus they were available if we had any queries over the weekend.
We hired ‘Dolly’, she is a modern van, easy to drive and handle, she was well equipped and spotlessly clean. We are a family of four and have two teenagers who slept comfortably in the top compartment. Being in a van is one million times better than tent camping let me tell you.
The whole experience was fantastic, we had such fun sitting in the sun, paddle boarding, cooking full English

So.. we just dropped Dolly off and now we’re on our way home after a lovely break in the lakes.
Zoe and Andrew were so welcoming and friendly, with us never being to the Lake District before there knowledge was amazing and really helped us enjoy our stay and also telling us how to get the best out of Dolly (the video tutorials we received before arriving made things a lot easier).
Nothing was to much trouble and we had everything we needed to enjoy the perfect camper van break including our little box of local goodies.
I would recommend Lakes Escape Campers 😊
