Services
In 2007, with a growing recognition of the limitations of applying psychology within traditional services, James and Andy created Changing Minds in order to apply psychological knowledge and theory more flexibly and effectively within the 'real world'.

Driven by a passion to develop more positive futures and enable others to realise their potential, Changing Minds UK has developed to work in the UK and internationally with individuals and organisations across a range of settings including high performance sport, business, mental health, and criminal justice. We aim to apply psychological knowledge and theory both flexibly and effectively in the complex systems that exist in the real world.
We recognise the pressures and demands facing those working in high performance environments or on a performance pathway, and understand that talent alone is not enough to ensure sustainable high performance. Frequently, such pressures and demands can result in behaviours that are challenging to make sense of or effectively manage, and may over time impact on performance, team functioning and individual wellbeing.
Changing Minds work with children, young people and their families, providing a range of services including comprehensive psychological assessments, psychological therapy for children and their families, and psychological consultation with professionals and senior leadership teams working with young people.
Every individual involved in these environments is driven to enhance performance and help individuals and teams reach their athletic potential. They are dynamic, often volatile, high pressure environments, with those involved striving for excellence and hungry for success.

In high performance sport, there is understandably a desire to seek out or develop those individuals capable of performing well under pressure (those moments when there is something to 'win or lose'), with a growing recognition that talent alone is not enough.
Our applied psychologists have experience of working with young people, their families and teaching staff within educational contexts, as well as mental health, social care and criminal justice settings. Underpinned by robust psychological practice, we focus on optimising attainment and performance whilst promoting staff, pupil and team well-being.

Report
My company (EVGA) has recently used the temporary office facilities so that 3 of our team can meet up regularly in Warrington. The rooms are immaculate, very well equipped, spacious and comfortable. Jen & David are wonderful hosts and we truly appreciate the tea, coffee, cool water and biscuits provided. All this for a very reasonable fee. I can thoroughly recommend this venue for all types of business meetings or private meetings where comfort, great facilities and low costs are essential. A real gem of a place. (M.
