John has almost two decades of experience in the industry and has worked on a lot of major projects throughout the country. His expertise and knowledge of passive fire protection and fire protection services are second to none and this shows with all our repeat clients. We started as a labour only company providing fully trained and competent operatives, supervisors and surveyors for many fire protection companies around the country.

We will continue to do so at all our clients requests. As its name suggests, passive fire protection (PFP) is a form of fire safety provision that remains dormant, or inert, during normal conditions but becomes active in a fire situation. It is an integral component of structural fire protection in a building, which is designed to contain fires or slow their spread.

John has had almost two decades of experience in the industry and has worked on a lot of major projects through the country. His expertise and knowledge of passive fire protection and fire protection services are second to none and this shows with all our repeat clients. We started as a labour only company providing fully trained and competent operatives, supervisors and surveyors for many fire protection companies around the country.
Current regulations require certain elements of the building structure to have fire resistance. Fire resistance testing on structural steel members have shown, that by incorporating a proprietary fire protection system, the ability of the structure to resist fire will be greatly enhanced dependent upon the particular system chosen.
The spread of fire can be restricted by sub-dividing buildings into a number of discrete compartments. These fire compartments are separated from one another by compartment walls and compartment floors made of a fire-resisting construction which hinders the spread of fire. Approved document J, Combustion appliances and fuel storage systems, defines a fire compartment as:.
A Fire Compartmentation Survey is comprised of an inspection of all compartment walls, floor voids, ceilings, and roof areas. This includes service risers, above ceilings and beneath raised walls.

It aims to assess whether a buildings current fire strategy is in accordance with developing laws and guidelines, as well as determining the likelihood of the fire compartment walls, doors, floors and ceilings obstructing any fire/smoke for the required period for the building including the time it would take to escape said building. It considers any past work, seals, and compartments, as well as their condition and effectiveness.
At JMPFP, we pride ourselves on our distinct understanding of fire doors, their purpose and what their installation entails, whilst being able to adapt and tailor to your specific needs and requirements. Our experienced Managing Director leads the way for our trained specialist installers who have carried out fire door installations in an array of different sites and builds.
