Ashore Sailing was established in 2004 and is based in Leicestershire, providing RYA course tuition in the Midlands. Our Principal and Chief Instructor is Mark Davis, ably assisted in both the running and instructing activities of Ashore Sailing by his wife Debbie. Mark Is a qualified RYA Yachtmaster Instructor (sail), and has a lifetime of sailing experience.
He is also an RYA Shorebased Navigation and SRC Instructor. Mark studied at Leicester University where he attained his Professional Teaching qualifications. Ashore Sailing offers both RYA classroom and RYA e-learning courses, and more recently has been running Hybrid courses which are live classes, presented online to our students, on a platform that allows both Instructor and student interaction.

Services
This course is tailored for aspiring skippers with some yachting experience and basic navigation and sailing skills. Evening meals are not provided. Most crew members prefer to go ashore in the evening to take in the atmosphere, relax and eat out in one of the many restaurants, yacht clubs and pubs usually found within a few minutes walking distance from the marinas we overnight in.
Has it been a few years since you completed your Day Skipper or Yachtmaster theory course, or perhaps you have not had the time or the opportunity to get out on the water and maintain your skill levels, then a refresher course could be right for you.
