W. E. Clark & Son Ltd is a multi-award winning independent family-owned jewellers established in 1819 and amongst the oldest businesses in Lewes. Our showroom sits on the west bank of the River Ouse alongside the historic Cliffe Bridge. The company has been developed and expanded by Managing Director and the fourth generation of the Clark family, David Clark P.J. Gem.
W. E. Clark & Son is a family run jewellers with branches in Lewes and Uckfield. Now run by the fourth generation of the Clark family, David Clark, we are very proud of our strong team working within our Lewes and Uckfield jewellery showrooms. Daniel Blackford, Director, is responsible for the day to day running of the company, and has achieved both Professional Gemmology and Management Diplomas.
At W.E. Clark & Son we want to offer the best service possible and help you to keep your watch in perfect condition. All of our staff are trained to carry out minor watch repairs in the showroom. We can replace batteries, watch straps, bracelets and watch pins while you wait. We also offer an ultrasonic cleaning service for bracelets, which is extremely gentle and effective.
W. E. Clark & Son offer a comprehensive in-house jewellery repair and alteration service, as well as bespoke jewellery creation. Unlike many other jewellers who send their repairs away to a third party, we have our own on-site Goldsmiths. They are extremely experienced and gifted Goldsmiths. Based at our Lewes premises, our Goldsmiths seek to retain the integrity of each piece that passes through their hands.

I have struggled to fine anyone who was willing to take on the repair of my wife's gold watch bracelet
I found Clark and Son online and sent pictures initially and then the bracelet for assessment
I am delighted with the result and the service was excellent. David was very happy to discuss the repair personally before starting work
All the pins had to be drilled out and the links repaired before repinning - all in 18ct

We bought our wedding rings from W E Clark & Son and we were looked after superbly by David. We wanted rings made from fair traded gold and David found exactly what we needed at a reasonable price. W.E. Clark & Son have done a magnificent job in repairing my Emporio Armani watch face as it was scratched and needed replacing and it also looks like they’ve removed all the scratches around the wrist scrap so I couldn’t be any happier.
They were very easy to contact, their communication was brilliant.
I received my watch back today via Royal Mail and it almost looks like a brand new watch after buying this treasured watch of mine 6 years ago.
A pleasure doing business with you and I shall definitely be using again without any hesitation.

Vintage Tudor watch that had been my grand fathers and fathers watch. It was in a very poor condition and thought to be beyond repair. I had even taken the watch back to Switzerland some years ago simply to be told that mechanical things have a life expectancy and to just leave it in a drawer. The restoration carried out by W.E. Clark & Son has been nothing short of amazing. The watch face has come up like new and the time keeping has been very good for a watch of its age. I cannot fault the service and its been very special to get it back on my wrist after all these years.

A badly scratched glass on a Rotary watch, just a few years old, couldn't be fixed by a High Street jeweller who said they had sent it back to Rotary. W. E. Clark did the job, providing everything necessary to send the watch to them and delivering back on EXACTLY to date stated for £20 less than the jeweller quoted. Five stars isn't enough for such great service - thank you!
