Derek is a very experienced Guitarist/Tutor Previously working as a Music Development worker at various community centres and guitar tutor for adult education night classes.Former tutor at the Historical music shop Bruce Millers, Derek established himself as a highly respected Guitarist and tutor with all his students gaining high grades and personal achievements.

Piano lessons are taken by our new team of dedicated tutors Debora Haig, Caron Flett, Tessa Kolster, Mhairi Eastwood and Kristian Rasmussen. Debora, Caron, Tessa, Mhairi and Kristian cover a wide range of styles and have great experience of playing on acoustic and electric pianos and keyboards.

Debora has worked for Aberdeen city council teaching these same Instruments for over 12 years, and has been employed as a professional oboist in the north east since she was 15 years old.As well as teaching both Piano and the full range of woodwind instruments, Debora performs in musical ensembles, both classical and contemporary, and offers accompaniment services to students undertaking exams.

At Aberdeen Music Lessons we are delighted to offer a centre of excellence for pipe band studies, including individual tuition and group lessons. We are fortunate to have a dedicated team of highly experienced and successful tutors who are passionate about their art. We also offer master classes with some of the world's top players, educators and composers.

Learning to play the drums is an extremely rewarding experiences, regardless of age or experiences. It can unearth a hidden musical talent, be great fun and give a real sense of pride. Quite a surprisingly high number of our mature students have told us it helps them to relax.
