GMS Steel Fabrications have been supplying us with new containers & refurbishing our old skips when appropriate. We are very pleased with the service they provide for us. We started trading with GMS in 2004. Since then we have built up a good relationship and have never been disappointed with the quality of their work and turn round time carried out for ourselves.
Public awareness of environmental issues, and increasingly stricter Government legislation and guidelines for many of our customers bring greater challenges for GMS. However, after listening to our customers brief, the GMS design team has always managed to meet and usually exceed our customers' needs and expectations.
GMS provide standard and custom built compactors to meet the ever changing, or sometimes very specific needs of our customers. With compaction ratios of up to 20:1 significant savings can be made on disposal costs and revenue created with recycling of certain materials.
The use of compactors can lessen the impact on the environment, reduce the volume of landfill waste, save on increasing landfill tax charges and reduce transport costs for our customers.We also offer Screw Compactors.

We have a building dedicated to skip refurbishment and repairs allowing us to, for example, straighten bent or twisted containers. We have all the neccessary hydraulic and welding equipment to effect such repairs. In the early days of GMS we solely repaired, refurbished and modified skips and our company still does this today, over the years we have perfected this and have skilled members of staff to carry out the necessary work.
GMS can manufacture and supply parts for skips to be fitted by your own fitters. This is a very cost effective way to repair damaged skips. The alternative is to ship the damaged skip, possibly hundreds of miles, to our plant in Derbyshire. This of course incurs two lots of transport costs, and more downtime when the skip in question is not available for use.
