William Twigg (Matlock) Ltd, more commonly known as Twiggs, is a family run engineers' merchants, steel stockholder and steel fabricator established in Matlock, Derbyshire in 1905 by William Twigg.

Four generations of the Twigg family have contributed to the success of the business and innovation and investment continues today - we are still growing! Sawing Report

We have a fully automated CNC band saw allowing us to deliver high quality accurate cuts for a quick turnaround on orders. The saw frame is designed for the perfect cutting of beams, angled and U-shaped section steel and hollow square section. We also have 4 circular cold saws that can assist in our quick turnaround ranging from 350mm - 900mm.

Fabrication Report

We excel at one-off bespoke projects such as Buildings industrial or agricultural, Builders Beams, Portal Frames, Extensions to Shops and Schools, Fire Escapes, Mezzanine Floors, Railings, Cattle Grids, Truss Work, Cat Ladders and numerous other projects. Our customers include Foundries, Builders, Local Authorities, Quarries, Farmers, Rail Industry, Manufacturing and Private Individuals.

This is the best place in Derbyshire to get sound advice on any DIY job! They allow me to present any issues/ideas and questions without making me feel in the slightest bit silly! And I have asked them some fairly basic questions. But to me these are big jobs -.pointing, guttering, grouting, patio laying. Lovely, knowledgeable staff, and great prices.

Twiggs is really a really good local hardware shop in matlock. Never used them before today. If you explain what you want they will find for you. You can call in advance and order your stock for collection when ready aswell.

Good old fashioned customer service. Knowledgeable counter staff.
Pretty much always have what I need in their stores, and very reasonably priced.
Worth the trip, as it's further from me than other well known chain type retailers.
