Tinsleys Riding School is an amazing place where you can learn about all aspects of riding and caring for your horse. Neil and Sue are great, always giving excellent guidence on your riding skills and ways to improve. Last year I took part in the Horse Scheme, I had Star on the scheme and really enjoyed it, he is a lovely pony and I think he has got to know me.

I definatly feel that being around the horses has increased my confidence and has given me a good knowledge of horse care. All of the horses at Tinsleys are well tempered and really nice to ride. I would highly recommend this stables to any rider of any ability.
Services
We are a friendly riding school with experience in developing the skills of both the capable rider and the complete novice. Riders who simply ride to have fun and relax are just as important to us as those wishing to improve to compete.

Sue is a BHS Stage 4 Senior Coach in complete Horsemanship and has trained combinations to BD Advanced Medium, but also enjoys teaching children and adults, bringing them on through the levels and seeing them progress and gain confidence and enjoyment. We take pride in our high standard of teaching and the quality of our horses.
I have been going to Tinsleys for around 15years, and before I took the plunge as a returning rider Sue and Neil also taught my son to ride, taking him from a complete beginner through to competing successfully at Dressage. Whether a complete beginner or an experienced rider, young or old, I couldn't recommend Tinsleys highly enough - Sue and Neil inspire confidence, make riding fun and encourage everyone to ride at the best of their ability.
Riding is a great sport for children to participate in. They have lots of fun, can enjoy being in the fresh air, learn a new skill, gain confidence and keep fit. We are taking riders who are able to mount, dismount unaided, can safely adjust their own stirrups and girth, are confident in walk, trot and are working into canter, all of the lead rein.
For your 1st lesson it is advised to wear long comfortable trousers with stretch and a top that covers the arms but allows you to move freely. You will need your own hat, boots with a flat sole and a small heel, a pair of gloves and a schooling whip 100 to 120cm long and a short jumping type whip. Riding hats must conform to the current safety standards.
All our horses have been selected for their good temperaments and are well schooled. Most of the horses go out competing and do extremely well. This keeps them fresh and interested in their work and of course gives our riders the opportunity to further their riding experience. Pippin has developed into a horse that has such an amazing temperament and talent.

Time spent at Tinsleys is always friendly and fun. The instructors are always encouraging and they can quickly identify areas of your riding which requires improvement. They will provide you with exercises and advice which can help you master those areas. I started riding as a beginner and continued riding over 10 years later. Tinsleys can cater for all levels of capability and when you're ready Tinsleys, will provide you with opportunities to put your skills to the test through competitions.
The horses are wonderful - all so different, but each of them are lovely to be around and ride. I highly

Sue and Neil taught me to ride aged 7 and I rode here for 8 years until i got my own horse. I have recently started to come back to the riding school (aged 27) - riding once a week and it has been amazing. Sue and Neil have a wealth of knowledge and will help you grow as a rider wether you're a beginner or have been riding for years. The horses are gorgeous, they are all such characters and you feel safe on whoever you ride. If are you are interested in dressage Sue will assist you and help you compete when you feel the time is right. The lessons are well suited to your ability and the horses take

Tinsleys Riding School is a fantastic place! Sue and Neil are both very knowledgeable and are able to teach across all levels. The horses are very well cared for and many are competing regularly in dressage competitions- and winning! But as important is the friendliness and welcome for all. I t is certainly the best place that I have ever ridden.
