You've discovered an equestrian escape. Set in 260 acres of Cambridgeshire countryside, we offer all things equestrian for all ages and abilities. Whether your little one is looking for riding lessons or perhaps you're an owner in need of livery services, we're here to help. Did you know that we're a British Horse Society Approved Riding Centre and a BHS approved livery yard?

So, if you're looking to get away from the bustle and saddle up, we'd love to welcome you to South Cambridgeshire Equestrian Centre.
Services
As an organised sporting activity we are able to operate all lessons but with social distancing measures in place. We welcome riders from 4 years old to experience the joy of horse riding in the Cambridgeshire countryside, although we do have an upper weight limit of 80kg. South Cambridgeshire Equestrian Centre (SCEC) has a duty of care to safeguard all children involved in SCEC from harm.
We need to let you into a small secret. At South Cambridgeshire Equestrian Centre, our team are passionate about providing the highest level of service to our livery clients. Each horse that comes into our care is treated as if it's on of our own. That means you can rest assured that your pride and joy is being truly looked after whilst in our care.
Due to an increased demand for riding lessons we are looking to recruit qualified instructor(s). Likely hours to be two weekday mornings a week initially. Must be comfortable with and have experience of teaching adults and children. Present restrictions prevent groups but likelihood of pony activity and group lessons resuming soon.
Perhaps you've got a question about our horse riding lessons or maybe you're looking to find livery services in South Cambridgeshire. We are signed from the A10 at Foxton ( just by the level crossing). After turning onto to Barrington Road you will pass through a series of sharp bends. On the 3rd bend there is a brick gateway, This is our entrance.

Went here 15 years ago , I'm still traumatised. The horses bite and kick , staff were abusive and rude and would reduce CHILDREN to tears on a regular basis. I am still traumatised to this day .

South Cambridge equestrian centre is a great riding school and livery yard . I’d lessons here and the facility was always very clean and well looked after . Everyone on the yard was friendly and always happy to help if you don’t know how to do something.Furthermore Christian is a great teacher and is very patient ,kind and always gives clear and constructive feedback to help improve your riding and understanding in horses.
I’d certainly recommend the riding school to anyone who’s interested in riding as you’ll be certain to gain your confidence in horses.

Review on behalf of my sister - Attended lessons for awhile there. The instructor was very abrupt, rude and would make you feel 10 inches tall. He knocked my confidence so I moved on. Thankfully I found a really friendly and welcoming riding centre where I was able to build my confidence back up. Riding should be something to enjoy and look forward to. Not to be shouted at or spoken to in such a rude manner. Plus I don't want to be paying for something I am not enjoying. I really hope that one day he learns some manners and straightens up his attitude for future riders sakes - otherwise there won

I have been riding and keeping horses on livery here for 14-15 years. Horses are cared for like individuals and nothing is missed by the team at SCEC. The facilities are fantastic with good off road hacking.
Christian is an excellent teacher who provides thoughtful and clear feedback during lessons. I never leave a lesson without having learnt something new! I would highly recommend.

We have our mare at SCEC and have always found the instructors and staff to be both knowledgeable and professional. We would highly recommended this yard for both lessons and livery. Careful and considerate instruction from the riding instructor has increased our daughter's riding confidence exponentially.

I was struggling to find a good livery yard outside Cambridge. SCEC was the perfect find ! My horse is an advanced dressage horse and has been used to 5* yards. I wanted him to have half-day turnouts whatever the weather and the owner was accommodating to this request. The indoor school and the hacking around the yard are also a big bonus. Although the centre is a riding school, the staff have the time and the professionalism, knowledge and one-to-one dedication to each horse which is great. I know that my horse is in the right hands and I trust the yard 100% with my boy. They are always willing

I went there as a novice. My hopes and dreams of riding we're full of confidence. I went here and on my first lesson I was bucked off. 3rd lesson. I was bucked off and so on. It's taken 4 months to get over my nerves. DON'T GO TO SCEC. I was even being told frightening stories about what will happen is I don't do as I'm told. Had no support whatsoever. Avoid SCEC!

Booked a taster session for my daughter and her friend, ages 5 and 6. The facilities, horses and surroundings are all excellent but the people could do with being a lot friendlier. We were spoken to abruptly, bordering on rude but luckily the girls were treated fairly well and seemed to enjoy it. However the lack of warmth and enthusiasm put me off and I won't be going back. It's a shame really.

The staff are really kind and supportive of everyone who I have seen ride there. My riding has improved a lot since I started there six years ago and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. The horses are all really well kept and the knowledge that the staff hold is of very high standard.
