Axe & Trap Studios is a recording facility situated at the foot of the Mendip Hills in Somerset, England. Located between the City of Wells and the famous Wookey Hole, just 15 minutes away from the Glastonbury festival site, Axe & Trap is a comfortable, four-room recording studio available to track large ensembles, full bands, small combos, solo artists and performers.

What a fantastic studio! We booked Axe & Trap on the advice of John D Revelator and Palooka 5 and ended up in what had to be the most easy going and productive recording session of our lives. This place has a laid back, relaxed vibe and all the toys you could possibly want to record your music. Ben is amazing to work with - never pushy, takes the time to listen to you & what you want to sound like and doesn't treat you like an idiot (even if you are one....). We owe Ben a lifetime's worth of cider for his advice, expertise and above all, his infinite patience during the mixing and, especially,

Axe and Trap is an amazing studio. Ben Turner and the team are fantastic and we have now done several sessions here. The reason we come back? Because it has a relaxed vibe where the studio staff listen to what you are trying to accomplish and have a range of great gear to help you achieve this. Their expertise and generous rates mean that idea you had in your head can become an audio reality. Well done to the guys for making a studio that's all about the music.

Ben is a really talented recording and mixing engineer. He has a good ear for what sounds good and works really hard to get the sound you’re after in your project. The studio has a relaxed and laid back feel and Ben makes you feel at home there so you enjoy your recording session & get the most out of it. 100% recommended - both Ben & the studio.

Found the whole recording experience at Axe and Trap Studios fantastic. A studio with using great quality equipment and with their expertise they really found our "Palooka 5 sound" just as we’d hoped. Ben, our sound engineer, really understood what sound we were going for and gave advice and guidance throughout our time with him. He had some great suggestions which really added to the quality of the recording. Nothing was too much trouble and he has the patience of a saint as we had numerous takes as we experimented with our tracks. We can’t recommend Axe & Trap and Ben Turner enough

Had the chance to record here with Alex Hurr on a collaboration project with a student film crew. The studio was fully kitted and spacious for the project and its large crew. Basic catering facilities are available too for long sessions. Alex conducted the recording elements seamlessly and professionally and made the whole day a ball o' fun! Very classy vibes from this place, can't wait to hear the recordings we made. Will definitely be back to record my own music here.
