We very much believe in classical osteopathy and the hands on approach to patient care. It is the treatment and integration of all the body parts to each other that can lead to a longer-term resolution of symptoms. Alexander qualified in 1989 and initially practiced in Brighton and London before setting up Horsham Osteopaths with Henry Lee in 1992.
They originally worked in Piries Place, Horsham, before establishing The New Street Clinic in 1999. Alexander also worked for a number of years for the Maidstone College of Osteopathy as a clinic tutor, teaching students osteopathic techniques and supervising the student clinic. He is currently the Treasurer for The Institute of Classical osteopathy.

Osteopathy is an established, recognised system of diagnosis and treatment that lays its main emphasis on the structural integrity of the body. In other words osteopathy believes that symptoms often stem from abnormalities in the function of the body. These abnormalities can be corrected through osteopathic treatment, thus relieving the distress and discomfort.
When you visit us for the first time a full case history, including a medical history will be taken. You will then be asked to remove some of your outer clothing down to your underwear if necessary (you may like to wear some loose shorts or leggings) Then a series of simple movements of the body and spine are carried out which enables us to make an assessment of the problem and begin to understand any possible causes.
Osteopathy can help people of all ages from babies to children to teenagers to adults, as well as pregnant women and the elderly. Patients typically attend with a variety of aches and pains some of which are acute in nature. Osteopathy has built its reputation on these patients and has long been respected in its ability to help.
You will be asked to remove your outer clothing, usually down to your underwear. This makes it easier for the osteopath to treat you effectively - however if you feel uncomfortable you may wear loose clothing.
There is no set rule as to the number of treatments that will be necessary as this is entirely dependent on a variety of factors unique to each patient, including the type of complaint, whether it is chronic or acute etc. However we will always discuss your course of treatment with you on your initial visit.Alexander and Henry are Registered Osteopaths.

The New Street Clinic is open from 8:00am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday, and from 8:00am to 12 noon on Saturdays. We are covered by the major Insurance Companies including BUPA, simply Health and AXA PPP but we would advise you to check directly with your Insurance Company before making an appointment.

Before seeing Alex, I had been gradually getting worse over the years....I was now in pain every day. I had trouble doing normal things like bending over to pick things up. Sometimes my legs would momentarily "go from under me." Some nights, my arms would go dead and tingly in bed. Every night, I would wake several times and struggle for hours to get back to sleep with low back pain and mid back pain or dead arms. I had headaches in the morning, reduced bladder control and digestive issues. THANK GOD I SAW ALEX ! he has sorted me out. I'm sleeping so much better, massive reduction in pain, with

I had a very bad fall on Saturday, felt ok then yesterday I could not move at ALL. Ambulance called, lots of gas an air to get me on to a chair. I could only walk 20 feet then I had to sit down. I met Alex today, he spent an hour understand the problem and treated me. No second appointment needed. I walked out of the clinic and have just walked around the block. Great service and great value for money. Thank you Alex so much.
