Hello, I'm Lisa and I set up Polkadot Pictures & Framing in 2015, having been framing pictures for family, friends and myself since 2002. I have learnt my picture framing skills at a number of picture framing courses. Three of these have been residential courses in the south of England, held by an experienced London-based picture framer who undertakes work for museums, which requires the highest level of picture framing expertise.
Polkadot gave an excellent service from first contact to delivery of the finished product. Their expert guidance in choosing the right frame and mount transformed a good print into a stunning picture. Lisa recently framed one of my attempts at a landscape. Her suggestion of a suitable mount and frame elevated the picture to something I could hang in the entrance hall without being too embarrassed about my effort.
Polkadot Pictures & Framing accepts commissions to frame paper-based items such as watercolour paintings, prints, photographs, children's drawings, documents and certificates, plus canvas boards and fabrics. Customers are invited to bring pictures for framing to one of the monthly events at Collingham between Wetherby and Leeds - see Next Picture Framing Event for dates and details.
Many customers have asked Polkadot Pictures & Framing to frame art from their travels abroad. Here is a selection of these often fascinating items. This picture of a crane, from China, was created out of tissue paper. It was framed without a mount, using spacers to keep the delicate tissue paper away from the glass.
If you are interested in purchasing any of the pictures for sale, please contact me. Pictures can be delivered within Leeds and to the areas between Wetherby and Leeds free of charge. Payment by cash or cheque on delivery, or by BACS in advance. The paintings are by a number of different artists and have been mounted and framed by Polkadot Pictures & Framing.
