Services
West Beach Caravan Park is a privately owned, family run, beach front grass park providing holiday vans and glamping as well as pitches for motorhomes & touring caravans. We are not taking tents during the 2021 season. West Beach is located in Hopeman on the magnificent Moray Coast which has been voted in the top twenty most beautiful coastal areas on the planet by National Geographic.
West Beach Caravan Park provides pitches for motorhomes, campervans & touring caravans. The pitches are located in different areas within the park: The Coal Yard, The Station, The Platform, The Auld Brig and The Shore. The Platform is only suited for campervans due to the elevated position. All of our pitches have 16amp electric hook-ups.
We have Holiday Vans and S-Pod Lodges on the front of the site with uninterrupted views over West Beach and the Moray Firth. We also have two wheelchair friendly Willerby Richmond accessible holiday vans. The Moray Firth is home to the largest bottlenose dolphins in the world and these are regularly seen from West Beach.
Our three 'goods wagons' offer the best glamping experience at luxury level and are only a stones throw away from the beach. Whether it's a romantic break or a much needed place to escape from the daily grind the wagons are the perfect place to chill out. Each wagon has an en-suite shower, a kitchen area, double bed, heating and decking.
The caravan park partly occupies the site of the old railway station which overlooks and includes West Beach. The disused railway line now connects Burghead and Hopeman with a two mile coastal path. This is popular with walkers and cyclists of all ages and the varied coastline attracts beach combers, rock poolers, surfers, climbers, twitchers, cyclists and runners.

What could you possibly want more from a caravan park. It looks fun and is beautifully maintained. The on site food is amazing. The beach is amazing and often delivers fun waves. The rocky coast is perfect for crabbing or just to watch the waves crash on them whilst sipping your coffee. Great dog walks. Amazing butcher, cafe and ice cream shop on walking distance. And the whole thing small and safe enough to let your kids to enjoy their freedom. What is not to like

The location is fantastic and a lot of money has clearly been spent on the site. Bootleggers was great. On the down side I felt that the owners lacked a personal touch. The barrier never worked as it should have for the duration of our 6 day stay and we had to move pitch after 2 days unnecessarily. When asked why was told that they were busy. It's okay to apologise and acknowledge that mistakes have been made, it's not a sign of weakness. An apology would have gone a long way for me!

Stayed here the one night. Had originally booked two pitches together but slight mix up ment we were not together do opted to be moved to the Auld brig area. Whilst the pitches were together the view wasn’t great! Huge eating marquee in front of us. Feel this should be noted as ‘restricted views’ on any booking given this pitch. Toilets and shower facilities impeccable, can’t fault them. Site well maintained and clean.

What a fantastic site . We have been on many sites over the last 40 years both here in Scotland and all around Europe- this site is up there with the very best ! From the minute we arrived , the young man at reception was so friendly and helpful , the facilities are exceptional, the food on site was wow! The premium pitch was incredible with Dolphins, otters and boats keeping us entertained! The area is superb, so much to see and do. Golf courses, walks and cycle routes ,wow! Thankyou West beach we will return without a doubt 👏👍🌞

Lovely small site with a fantastic view, toilet and dish washing amenities clean and quirky . We were staying in a VW camper and our pitch was ample for what we need. This site also being it’s from its own take away and bar which are little cabins you receive your order and there are plenty picnic tables to sit at and enjoy your food/drink and take in the view. Walking distance to the village which has a Chinese and a chipper , few shops , pub etc. Will be back again.

Nice site this one. We've just spent 3 nights here and this morning we saw 2 dolphins swim by....amazing! The Bootlegger sells very decent food and the facilities are good. Short stroll to shops which include a fabulous butcher (beef sausages were beautiful and the lamb was so tender) and Ice cream parlour. The local pub has really nice owners.

Clean, well maintained site in an ideal location to explore the surrounding area.
Stayed for 3 nights and were lucky enough to have a front line, fully serviced pitch overlooking the sea and coast. Staff on the site were helpful and the site had stalls providing alcohol and food with bench seating / table areas nearby.
Word of caution!
Access to the site is via a fairly narrow street that runs through Hopeman with cars parked on both sides of the street. Approach carefully and all will be fine, local residents appeared to be used to caravans going up and down the street and were very obliging

Great site, probably the best we have stayed at. Food on site is amazing, not cheap but well worth it, good clean facilities and excellent location. Our pitch was on flat ground below the food / drink van which flooded a bit in a storm (dried fairly quickly) but overall was not too noisy despite being close to van... I'd probably book a little further west on site next time but all pitches from Dory Bus onwards were nice. I cannot fault the cleanliness or tidiness of site, a real gem of a place in a beautiful area. We had 5 days here in motorhome and out next site in aviemore was good but could
