The Farmers Arms, in the picturesque market village of Great Eccleston, is a traditional country pub with a contemporary feel. Popular with locals, this large ambient pub is set over two floors, offering private dining, a large events space, and an extensive list of carefully sourced gins from across the UK.
The pub boasts five open fires and a sheltered and heated courtyard for all-weather al fresco dining. We mix the best ingredients with great personalities and atmospheric settings to create memorable experiences. Our seafaring heritage fuses with a timeless, pub charm to bring light and fresh seafood dishes and hearty, classic meat dishes to your table.

Services
We are especially passionate about seafood; it's not surprising considering our very strong links to the local fishing industry, which itself dates back to the 18th century. Naturally, this sees our food style lean towards light and fresh seafood dishes. That said, we all love the friendly informality of pubs, so British classics and hearty dishes have their place firmly on the menu.

Disappointed. Tried to go for lunch, just two of us, today (2pm) 23rd December. The restaurant looked quite empty at this time but we were told on arrival that they were not taking ‘walk ins’, even though I could have booked online and then walked back in. As a resident of the village I feel that this is poor, the business is obviously doing very well now…?

We went to the Farmers Arms with some good friends and were seated promptly. Service was good and we chose our food, which arrived promptly.
After our meal we decided to treat ourselves to a couple of special but pricey single malt scotches which were ordered neat and without ice, just the way it should be enjoyed! The two glasses arrived with… large ice cubes in, which we sent back. The glasses were returned with chilled and watery whisky which they insisted had be poured freshly. The ice cubes had clearly been fished out.
It spoilt a very nice meal for us. We paid in cash and the change

Welcome back Farmer's.
Ridiculously sorely missed from forced closure due to the pandemic in our community.
We popped in (booked) for a table solely for drinks on re-opening day to show support having already booked in as the logical choice for my Birthday a few days later.
New contender in the pumps Grolsch was a great throwback for me to the early late 80s/early 90s and will now be my go to at the pub.
When we visited for my birthday meal we were seated in the main ground floor restaurant, spaced suitably and with the large European style folding doors open providing a lovely fresh alfresco
