At Rudgwick Pre-School we believe in supported free play and that all learning should be fun and engage the children. We have strong links with Rudgwick Primary school and many friendships made by the children whilst with us last and help the children all the way through their school life. We meet with the reception teacher to ensure our children are always as ready as possible for transition to 'big' school.
We attend sports day, nativity plays and assemblies throughout the year and visit often during the summer term so the children become familiar with the environment ready for the move in September. The reception teacher also visits the children in the pre-school setting during the summer term.

Services
At Rudgwick Pre-School we believe in supported free play and that all learning should be fun and engage the children. The Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (2014) outlines the learning and development, assessment, welfare and safeguarding requirements that all early years providers must meet to ensure that their children learn, develop well and are kept healthy and safe.
Circle time - a whole group activity where the children learn songs, listen to stories, and take part in show and tell. 9am - Children arrive, change into plimsoles, store their healthy snack and head in for Regsistration. Tidy up time - towards the end of the session the children are encouraged to help tidy away their toys/activities.
Our EYFS curriculum aims to provide opportunities for our children to develop as independent, confident, successful learners with high aspirations who know how to make a positive contribution to their community and wider society. Through our child led curriculum, we provide an environment that allows each child to display high levels of concentration, creativity, energy and persistence.
Thank you all for your hard work, for looking after our daughter and making her short time before school so fun. She settled in so quickly and has loved every session. At Rudgwick Pre-School we promote healthy eating for all our children - as a varied and nutritious diet, along with good eating habits, are essential for young children's health, growth and development. When children have their snack they are always sat with other children and a teacher and conversation is encouraged - particularly about food!
