James Lear of Arundel was established in early 2012 after many years of dreaming about running our own shop. Inspired by our heritage of a land-working Sussex family, we started off stocking goods made by local artisans with the sense of rural & British tradition. However, over the past few years we've altered our ways in order to meet demand and we now focus on stocking a large range of menswear, accessories, homeware & gifts.
All of which have been personally selected by us. We are passionate about providing a quality & alternative shopping experience to our customers and are especially proud to offer personal shopping appointments, specifically for wedding parties*.We are thrilled to stock a wide range of clothing for such occasions.

I've popped into this shop for a few bits and pieces this past year. The stuff is great quality no doubt but what sets this apart from other high street retailers are the people behind the counter. Very friendly, extremely helpful, and the reason that shops like this do well. I won't be as local to them soon but I'll still be making the journey to this great little place.

Fantastic jewel in Nailsworth’s crown. Polly has helped me out with countless last minute birthday and Christmas gifts! Very friendly and personal service and fantastic quality products. Polly helped me choose a birthday present via the online shop and was exceedingly helpful, suggesting different styles and patterns. The present arrived beautifully packaged and with a lovely handwritten note. Unfortunately the shirt chosen didn’t fit but the returns process was very easy and the refund was issued quickly. I look forward to visiting the shop in person when I’m nearer the area!
