We are the only charity of our kind in West Wales supporting adults with mental health concerns or learning difficulties by providing a fantastic, well-equipped craft workshop, where our members can boost their life-skills and confidence. Our members often tell us that our up-beat, welcoming atmosphere has helped them develop and make new friends.
Through support and social interaction, members are given space in a nurturing environment to gain confidence and develop skills to assist them in the wider community. We are open to adults living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and North Pembrokeshire. We work in partnership with Hywel Dda the Local Health Board and other statutory and voluntary organisations.

Services
Taking referrals from professionals, (GP, CMHTs, Social Services and other professional services), we provide opportunities for exploration and support in all manner of arts and crafts, including pottery, woodwork, jewellery making, painting, sewing, weaving and needlework. We also offer support and learning opportunities in IT and basic cooking skills.
For people living in the South Ceredigion area we offer a home Befriending Service. This service offers individuals with poor mental health, and who may also be socially isolated, the chance to connect with others, to become more confident about getting back into local community life and to achieve the simple things that can often be taken for granted.
Thanks to funding from the Big Lottery HUTS is able to initiate a preventative support programme for people who may have mental health issues, specifically those who may have concerns but have not yet reached a crisis point. A day will be organised and you will be free to walk in to the John Rodda room for a coffee, or tea and chat on an informal basis.
In the Workshop you will be working alongside our support staff by helping with the craft activities and spending time talking with the members. As a Home Befriending Volunteer you will be visiting a person in their own home with a view to encouraging them to re-engage with community life. We offer training and on-going support as well as completing a DBS Check.
The Workshop covers the three counties, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire and we are happy to receive referrals from GPs, CMHTs, Social Services, and other professional bodies for anybody living within these counties. The Home Befriending service accepts referrals for people living in the South Ceredigion area and again taking these referrals from all the professional bodies as well as other 3rd sector organisations.
