A 'hotel with nurses' offering residential, nursing, and sheltered housing, respite and short term stays. Renowned for our food, Castle Grove has been described by a regular visitor as 'The Dorchester' of care homes. 34 years on and still going strong! A pet-friendly home registered with the Cinnamon Trust, we welcome resident's pets living with them, and help with their walking and care when necessary.
The late Ray, and Isabelle Kenny, realised their dream of a retirement home with a difference when they purchased Castle Grove in 1984. With flair and innovation they developed the building and its facilities, adding sheltered housing, and becoming "a hotel with nurses". A comfortable atmosphere in which the residents may enjoy retirement, set free from the burden of housekeeping and its cares, with the bonus of companionship.

Services
We currently employ 45 well trained staff, led by our Nurse Manager, Sue Thomas, with all new appointments overseen by Proprietor, Mrs Isabelle Kenny. Staff are chosen for their ability not only to carry out their practical duties efficiently, but also for their ability to relate to people and to understand particular needs and problems.
Set in four acres of well maintained grounds Castle Grove is located in the beautiful Devon village of Bampton. We have close links with the local community, and are within easy walking distance of local shops, restaurants and the Church. Castle Grove is sensitive to the individual needs of our residents, and adapts our services to suit them.
Registered with the Care Quality Commission for 26 beds for those needing nursing or personal care. Being a small and select home offering high quality nursing care, we are able to deliver palliative care for the chronically sick patient, including younger people. We work closely with the Hospice and Palliative Care discharge team at Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, and have close links with our local Doctor's surgery.
