Shelford Delicatessen
Drew & Nikki Wilkinson founded the company in 1999 with the simple idea of sourcing only the best, naturally produced ingredients to cook with. At the Deli we combine high-quality fresh produce + artisan ingredients with a smart new grocery store and a relaxed, reliable shopping experience for our community.

Our passion for excellence, authenticity + quality has driven us from the very beginning, and continues to drive us into the future. We know that every product counts from the way it is made, to the way it tastes. We strive to make the entire shopping experience as rewarding as possible. So we arrive 360' back at the business we began back in 1999 only much larger.
Services
We have a designated click + collect counter at the front left-hand door [current exit door] of the shop. Pre-orders are collected from here at an agreed time, or you can come into the shop to browse as usual if you would like to add any last-minute extras. Pre-orders can be paid in advance or on collection just as you prefer!
Here at the Deli we have only ever used Monmouth coffee beans - quite simply there's none finer in our opinion; in flavour, roasting skills and business ethics. We sell Monmouth Coffee beans, whole & ground, sourced from single farms, estates & cooperatives. They roast beans to order for us at their purpose built London Roastery so the beans arrive as perfect as possible.
We choose the brands we work with carefully and look for people who excel in what they do and are offering something unique. We work with artists, makers and artisans both locally and around the globe. We trust the workmanship, skill, and knowledge of our artisan partners. We believe in supporting makers/producers of beautiful, ethically made products, and using business to do good.

Great produce but I am struggling to find anywhere with higher prices. Hazelnuts at 40£/kg seems criminal to me!

Love the Deli in Shelford. The wonderful array of fruit and vegetables are a picture book display, very fresh and seasonal. The almond croissants are amazing and the chocolate and raspberry brownies are a firm family favourite. Missing the cafe, but delighted to find pizza sold in slices at the weekend. Delicious.

Absolutely gorgeous produce... brought some wild mushrooms, wonderful spinach and sourdough bread.
So much more I could have brought and will do next time I visit.
Some one was having their coffee beans grounded as I was leaving and the smell was divine, great service to offer.

Great ambiance and service! It was a lovely place to have lunch and catch up with friends. Although not officially a working space, they were laptop friendly too. The WiFi was decent. I ordered the pesto-y salad at first, but didn’t really enjoy it- very bitter and rich. My friends ordered the famous frittata- it was delightful! The second time I came, I got a vegan pizza option that was great flavor-wise but very dry. Nonetheless, it’s a gem in Sheldon’s!

Good coffee, great cake, nice surroundings and friendly staff. Two small negatives; 1) prices are a touch on the high side and 2) it would have been nice if our coffee we're delivered before we had finished our cakes. Happy to return.

Nice spaced vaulted roof casual dining. Real nice breads freshly baked. Good sized garden out the back. Friendly staff. Seats can be reserved if you so wish.

It is a unique place with good food in general but let down by slow Wi-Fi and inconsistent level of service/presentation of food. For example I would expect to see £8 pasta in a pasta plate and not a small bowl like this (see the picture attached).

Nice but pricey. The food here is good quality, however it is expensive. I am all for quality and paying for it but this didn't feel like good value. Lunch for 2 people was £27 - beef and veg rice, a frittata, some potatoes and coleslaw. We didn't even order drinks.

Look it's a nice deli and in the little town of Shelford it's your best bet for some salads and a coffee. That said - the coffee is always pretty bitter (but strong). They have this really confusing ordering system if you want take away vs eat in which regulars seem to have down pat. Everything is extremely expensive . Eg. Ella's baby food - deli £2.38- boots in the village £1.10. Tea cakes 80p - near bakery 60p. They have a nice warm fire and an assortment of kids books and toys which is nice. The outdoor area looks like it would be fun for the kids when it's open. You can

Foody heaven folks! This tiny emporium situated at the far end of Woollards Lane in this southern suburb of the city is stuffed to the brim with the finest cheeses, coffees, teas, charcouterie, and all manner of English and Continental fare. Drew Wilkinson, who owns the Deli with his wife, Nickie, is an experienced chef who cooks wonderful daily menus using only the best locally sourced ingredients. He even growns his own herbs and salads in the deli's back garden so you don't get fresher than that! Why not join the queue for one of their lunchtime sandwiches, stuffed to the brim, a frothy
