I can’t say I have ever left a restaurant feeling so utterly conned. Castlehill looks good inside; nice tasteful Scottish themed decor, also there is a bit of historical background regarding Dundee written up for diner’s to read. Cheerful, helpful staff.
I ordered the salmon starter. It was delivered with great panache on an enormous plate, the plate was so big the waitress had to rearrange things on the table. There in the middle of the plate was the smallest helping of salmon I have ever seen ever. I would not have dished it up to a two year old. Shocking.

Just tonight been into this restaurant for a family reunion/80th birthday party.
Great meal, good service, ambiance fairly good -staff attentive without being overly so. Quality of food very good. One point you need to sort out. In a restaurant like yours who charges the prices you do you cannot serve cheese and biscuits like that! You are located in Scotland, no shortage of good quality cheeses, biscuits even garnish - be honest you can do better than that. Once again like to stress this is a good place to eat but chef please get a grip of the cheese and biscuits!

My husband and I visited Dundee for the day and we wanted to enjoy a meal 🍴 at this Restaurant as we heard about it from a Netflix program.
I enjoyed 😋 a two course Vegan 🌱 dishes while my husband ordered off the main menu and also had two delicious 😋 meals!
Service, decor and atmosphere was lovely.
They also had a Vegan 🌱 Sparkling Apple 🍏 wine 🍷 which we both liked 😀

We had the most appalling experience at this restaurant last night. The inexperienced staff were rude and inexplicably smug.
Tech difficulties meant they were unable to accept credit card payments. This situation was managed badly and we were forced to request a discount by way of compensation. This should have been volunteered or at the very least complimentary drinks offered.
The restaurant has pretentions towards fine dining; the calibre of food and waiting staff mean currently it has a long, long way to go.
I would strongly advise avoiding this lack lustre establishment at all costs.

Not great, staff need to communicate better so that items and food arrive at the table together.
Location is good and the facilities are well maintained.
Should you visit? Maybe not now as they have just reopened, once the staff have sharpened up the delivery of a good service, then yes.
For now a £180 for a taster meal and wine for 2 over 3 hours, well the service needs to be slick, knowledgeable and attentive.
A lot of work to be done to get to that stage.

Absolutely stunning! Couldn’t fault a single thing during the whole
Menu - we had the 8 course tasting menu - everything was fabulous!! Each time a plate came out we were “wow” then the next would follow and again we were “wow”! The staff were really lovely too! It was my birthday and had also received a surprise proposal just before we arrived and the staff made us feel very special! Prosecco and congratulations written on the plate was a lovely touch which was very much appreciated!

My girlfriend an I has dinner in Castlehill for her birthday and it was sublime. Each and every dish was served perfectly on time and was more than delicious. All the staff that served us that night was welcoming, kind and very attentive, explaining each dish and making nice suggestions and conversation. We had the best night! Surely we will come back again soon!

This was my birthday treat. The staff are attentive, knowledgable and friendly. The food, every single course, was amazing. The menu is not extensive but I am sure there are dishes to suit all palates. Cost was mid-range and worth every penny. Would return in a heartbeat. We met a lady who had travelled on at least 7 occasions from Aberdeen just to eat at Castlehill. Can't recommend highly enough. You gotta eat here!
