In 2007 Yummy Yorkshire was born when we started to make delicious artisan ice cream here on the family dairy farm. Our farm is nestled in the heart of the Pennine Yorkshire countryside, with a farming heritage handed down through generations of the Holmes family, which we're proud to carry on today.
Services
Yummy Yorkshire is the brain child of Jeremy & Louise Holmes. An artisan ice cream business that was born out of a surplus of cream and a third generation dairy farmer that was keen to make his mark on his time as custodian of the farm. Starting with an initial investment of 24k back in 2007 the wheels were set in motion to create a product that reflected the creative flair of this entrepreneurial couple.
The Ice Cream Parlour inside the main Hide & Hoof Restaurant is open every day from 9am until 5pm. Serving our award winning ice cream from an 18 flavour cabinet. Available on the cone or in a tub. Or why not indulge in an ice cream sundae or a warm waffle sundae. The parlour is also a great place to grab a hot or cold drink.enjoy a bit of time out in our Hayloft (upstairs) or grab your drink to go.
Please note our booking system has currently been set up to accept bookings up to 8 people. This is to help with compliance with the latest social distancing guidelines. Please note the heated dog friendly booths accommodate a maximum of 6 people as standard so if your party size is above this then this option will not show as available.
We've had a little refresh, we've added a few more quirky things and more importantly we now take bookings! Bookings are available every day either in the restaurant or one of our heated booths just outside (dogs are more than welcome here). Please note the booths seat 6 adults so if your party size is larger than this they will not show as an available option.
Like many companies we are being affected by members of our team having to self isolate. All the rest of our business will be fully open. Join us for Market on the Farm and visit stalls from independent traders from across Yorkshire. Held on select Sundays throughout the year. Our apologies but our kitchen team are having to self isolate until we have confirmation of a close contact PCR test result.

Visited last night for a festive meal and boy , it was amazing . The food was fantastic , loved all 3 courses but the Turkey main was outstanding , served on a lovely hot plate , with piping hot food including… plenty of Turkey , no skimping here . I had the Black Forest trifle for desert and it was as good as it looks and my starter of smoked salmon was super tasty . The girls attending to us were all very polite & extremely friendly with nothing too much trouble for them. Sometimes Christmas meals can be all hype and poor quality - this was certainly the opposite and for the price

Don't let first impressions of a barn yard put you off. What certainly looks like a former farm has been turned into an excellent eating venue. The popularity is clear to see when guests are turned away without reservations on a Friday lunch time. The staff are polite and professional and there was a nice atmosphere when we visited. It is cosy but we never left too close. There is a good selection on the menu for a Friday lunch time. The food came hot and well present and certainly a good portion. Just stayed for a main and a coffee but the couple of hours soon past by in excellent company and

We had the waffle Sundae with with 2 scoops, cream and flake for £5.95 each. Was realy nice. We went about 3.30 pm on weekday and was realy quite, plenty of seating available inside and out and a ample car parking. Covid compliance was good with staff wearing masks and sanitiser available on entry.

Having driven past many times, the weather and timing made for a great excuse to call in today. I chose to go for a double scoop ice-cream cone with one scoop chocolate and the other scoop salted caramel. The flavours were delicious and it is easy to tell why they are "award winning". The ladies serving on the counter were happy to recommend their favourite flavours, which I will be back to try after this great first experience. The waffles and ice-cream are on my wish list next time as well. There is also a coffee shop/restaurant but I did not enter but looks great for gatherings with friends
