We started in Church House, near the centre of Rothbury (now called Coquetdale Centre) with the aim of providing exhibition space for local artists paintings and 'rural crafts' In 1997 we moved to the Old Court Building, above the Library, further up the hill on Front Street.
The building was refurbished involving us, Northumberland Library Services and Alnwick District Council, thanks to a grant from the EU, with the aim of supplying the local area with better facilities. Our official name became 'Coquetdale Arts Centre' and for a few years until 2002 there were monthly music and poetry evenings as well as Members exhibitions.

I spend time in Rothbury, Northumberland with my Mum who has lived there for many years and enjoy painting hugely, particularly canvases using acrylics, as well as producing hand-made cards. Most of my work is very colourful and with lots of texture. I do mainly acrylics and mixed media work. The subjects are quite varied, but my main passion is landscapes.
Following a 25 year career in surveying, Graham's life took an unexpected turn during a long illness, when he rediscovered his love for art. He has a background in watercolour painting but enjoys working in a variety of media. Several years ago, a longstanding passion for maps crept into Graham's artwork and, since then, he has been using maps as an integral part of his paintings.

Carol has always loved painting and drawing but having no formal training she never progressed her art until she joined her local Gibside art club. A professional artist at the club taught her how to paint in watercolours and since then she has extended her knowledge with workshops and classes and now also paints in acrylics and pastel.
Born in Leith, Edinburgh David moved into the North East in 1985 to pursue his chosen career. He first became interested in art at a young age where he used to sit and watch his grandfather paint which encouraged him to pick up a paint brush. David at first would draw what was local and easily accessible to him in the streets of Leith and then as he started to progress in his ability he explored subject matter further afield.
