Headlight
Headlight is a service user led Mental Health Resource Centre. The centre provides information around mental health issues, provides volunteer opportunities, and signposts members in the right direction. We run various courses and recreational activities. We encourage participation and aim to build members confidence to be inclusive members of Headlight and the wider community.

Headlight believes that everyone has something to offer and that individuals develop a sense of belonging through participation and relationship building. Encouraging the development of community values has helped to create the caring environment people experience when they access the service offered.
Services
Headlight offer a 'Meet and Greet' to new members and this has proven successful. People inform us that they were immediately made to feel welcome, which encouraged them to return, and this goes a long way to people becoming involved. Headlight work with mental health services, offering support for individuals in crisis situations.

My autistic daughter and I call this "The Diogenes Club." That's a Sherlock Holmes reference. It's a lovely oasis in town where you can be assured of a welcome. Put a pound in the pot when you visit.

A lifeline for those affected by mental health problems. No matter your postcode, if you are affected by mental health problems you are welcome at Headlight. Proud to be member and trustee of such a positive project, that is a big part of the Sunderland community.

I attended a few times and didn't like the attitude of some of the people their. Was made to feel paranoid which made my mental condition worse. Walked out and never went back. Ruined by a few.
