Our training centre moves away from the days of the steel storage container or trailer 'class room', training on pub car parks, the use of tired, battered machines ( although all training bikes are dropped at some point) and not so witty anecdotes recited by a 'bad-ass' biker.

The driver and vehicle standards agency have produced this flowchart of the different ways you can get a full motorcycle licence, including the training and tests you need to take. Alternatively, telephone, email or drop in for coffee and a chat to discuss your requirements and the options available.
All learner motorcycle/moped riders must complete a CBT course before riding on the road. It would be very wise to still complete a CBT as you will be much safer on the road. If you want to ride up to a 125cc you must complete a CBT. A DL196 (CBT) certificate lasts for 2 years. CBT will need to be retaken if both a motorcycle theory and practical test are not passed within the 2 year certificate life.
This is for someone who has never ridden before that would like to see if motorcycling is for them. The taster session lasts 30 minutes on either a motorcycle or a moped. This is the first step to your motorcycle training. These courses run up to 7 days a week on our own training area. The day starts at 9:00am and finishes between 3 and 5 depending how everyone gets on.
The theory test will gauge your knowledge and understanding of riding theory. A sound knowledge of the theory is essential to a better understanding of practical riding skills. To help you learn the theory there are books, DVD/CD-Rom's available in the bike-moore office. There is also an iPhone app available to help learn the theory.

I went to Bike Moore for my CBT which was excellent, and then kept on for my DAS course thereafter which was equally good quality. Nik gave me the time to develop my skills in a patient and entertaining manner and his instruction was intuitive. You may have to wait a bit of time for training at the moment but it is worth waiting for a good instructor. Highly recommended.

I found Bike Moore to be the best school I could've possibly choose to do my full bike licence. Nik is the most patient teacher, very professional, very calm, encouraging and understanding. I live an hour from Banbury and I wasn't sure before I sign up but it was worth every single minute, money and effort. I absolutely love riding my bike. I was given extra time to practice until I was sure and happy. There is always time for one more! Nik's words so helpful. I have recommended this school to all my friends and family! You won't find better school than that and you won't be disappointed!!

Great place to get your training. Went from having never been on a motorcycle to getting my full license through the DAS course with confidence in my skill as a rider. Nik is a very laid back person with a very keen eye for detail, he will give you advise on even the smallest adjustment that will make a massive different on your riding experience. This makes the whole experience very friendly and relaxed.

I did my CBT with Nik today and was very nervous as I had no road experience at all. Nik was very patient, professional and reassuring and with his guidance I passed! I will be training with him for my future big bike tests and would definitely recommend Bike Moore!

Nik is an excellent and patient teacher with a calming influence - which was much needed as nerves can really get the best of me. He got me through the whole cat A process from CBT to passing my module 2, through covid-19 cancellations and various other challenges. Can't recommend Bike-moore highly enough.

I've redone my CBT with Nik, and then passed my Direct Access recently - (mod 1, second time & mod 2, first time - yay!) Nik was great to train with and really helped improve my riding with the few sessions I had with him. In particular he really helped improve my confidence with tipping the bike through bends. Communication was great all through the lockdowns as well with having to reschedule training a few times. Thanks Nik!
