Based in the historic city of York, David and Yvonne launched Corking Wines online in 2010 as a way of delivering superior wine to drinkers across the country. After many years in the corporate sector, the couple decided that it was time to share their pleasure for fine wine with a wider audience.

It is a French wine from the Bourdeux region. This merlot is our go-to wine for any occasion and always delivers quality. A fresh, aromatic unoaked Claret, showing vibrant aromas of ripe fruit reminiscent of soft plum and cherry. Well structured with round and silky tannins and notes of cherry echoed on the palate through to a delicate hint of spice on the finish.
French red wine - the legend! The best? Our range includes wines from Bordeaux to Beaujolais, French red wine heritage does not come much more historic than Chteauneuf-du-Pape. Hailing from the South of the Rhne Valley our Ogier Chateauneuf du Pape Clos de L'Oratoire des Papes 2014 is a superb sample of what the region offers.
In the ancient world, Greece was the wine capital of the world. With a rich history of winemaking, it is surprising that Greek red wine is not more of a household name in the Wine industry. The rugged landscape is the perfect terroir for producing some quality grapes including the Xinomavro & the Agiorgitiko.

Last night I went in to buy a couple of food items plus a lottery ticket for around £4.50. I wanted to pay with a debit card but was told the lottery ticket was cash only. I cancelled the lottery ticket and offered to pay cash for the food by withdrawing money from their cash machine , but was told they did not accept cash as payment for groceries. I was therefore forced to spend £5 on groceries to use my debit card. So cash is fine for the lottery but not for food. I was too tired to think of going next door to the grocery store next door.
