Westbourne's Philosophy is based upon the belief that the Service Users are entitled to be treated as individuals. The care in the home should not be institutionalised by the requirement of the staff of the Home to operate the procedures, laid out in the Home's Manual, for the safe delivery of the service.
The manager Jill Shepherd is a Registered General nurse with extensive years of experience in care management and care welfare. She has the Registered Manager Award and keeps updated by attending various courses which are appropriate to her role. Arrange for an assessment either at the potential service users current address, hospital or at the home. The assessment should be completed in respect of an emergency admission as soon as is practicable not exceeding 10 days. Ensure that all required information is collected and forms signed as required.
The Home benefits from three separate lounges and a conservatory. These areas provide the basis for pleasant day-to-day life with TV, music, reading and various other recreational facilities. Westbourne is constructed on two floors. Staircases and a lift access the upper floor. There is also a platform lift installed in the west wing of the Home for immobile service users.
