And if you can't wait to get all that antipasti, cured meat, cheese, biscuits and pasta home, you could always eat in. Pop into Terroni deli in Clerkenwell, and you'll be stepping into London's oldest delicatessen. In fact, when it opened in 1878 (when Queen Victoria was still on the throne), it was the first delicatessen in the whole of England.
Its longevity may be down to its location, bang in the middle of London's Little Italy, right next to the popular St Peter's Italian Church in Holborn. Indeed, the whole block is owned by the church. Little Italy, a warren of streets around Hatton Garden, flourished as Italians emigrated from their homelands, which had been destroyed agriculturally by the Napoleonic Wars.

What an incredible place! Rustic, homemade and tasty food. And the best part - the prices! My friend and I shared the Trio Bruschetta II, and the bresaola on it was delicious, cut straight from their deli! Then my lasagna was the best I've ever had out! Delicious homemade tomato sauce. My friend's pizza looked amazing too with fresh meat. My Aperol spritz tasted just like the ones I've had in Italy, and was only £4.95! Will definitely be going back. Lovely friendly staff too. 💓🇮🇹🍕🍝🍹

An absolute favorite spot of mine! The food here is always amazing and very reasonably priced. I especially recommend their pasta as the tomato sauce they use is to die for. Alternatively, they make fresh paninis and sandwiches with the wide variety of meat, cheeses and other fillings they have at their disposal. This is a perfect spot for lunch, dinner or even to buy authentic italian ingredients to cook at home.

It's Italy in london. The lovely food, the Italian speaking staff, the wide variety of Italian groceries and also many Italian speaking customers.
Such a wonderful place with delicious home cooked food. Very reasonable prices. Homely service and delectable desserts.
We had the Porcini and crab ravioli. Also the parma and buffalo Mozzarella salad.
Dessert was a yummy Tiramisu.
Left with about 8 canollis. Each filled with chocolate, lemon, pistachio and white chocolate.
Saw a gigantic calzone being served as we were leaving. Probably for the next time we visit.

This is a one-off place which makes reviewing a worthwhile pass time. What’s the point of reviewing a McDonald’s when they’re all the same? Talking of McDonald’s though, part of the quaintness of this joint is that they are so far removed from McDonald’s in terms of efficiency. I can’t help think of the film “the founder“ when I watch all those Italian workers rushing around with a purpose known only to themselves. Oh the food? It’s great! If you want authentic Panini’s this is where you come. Along with all things Italian. Apparently after the war Clerkenwell is where Italian

The oldest delicatessen in London! It has a cute cafe vibe and is a great place for casual lunch or coffee. They have tiramisu, cannolis, and Italian ice cream, so you'll be sure to find something to satisfy you. We came for lunch - which is available Monday thru Friday from 12-3 an ordered and sandwich and a ravioli for dine in. The amount is perfect for each person. I have to say though, the cheese pull in the sandwich is out of this world- make sure to get your sandwich toasted to experience that cheesiness!

What a wonderful cafe, the food is spot on reminds me of Italian home cooking, the food here is amazing just spot on, you want to try everything and it is heavy on the carbs but afterwards you can go for a very long walk. The pasta was fresh and the sauce was delicious, the calzone pizza was very big but the ingredients was again wonderful, we also had a lasagna which was very tasty. The deserts the tiramisu was rich and not too sweet. The ice cream was delicious full on flavours and fresh tasting. The lunch time was busy and we came a bit late and managed to squeeze together. They were busy but

This is a great spot to pick up Italian deli supplies - they have a huge selection of pasta shapes! Plenty of meat and cheese too if you're into that kind of thing. They do lunch so we tried some pasta dishes one day, it's fairly inexpensive but honestly it's like they just take packets down off the shelf and cook it for you. The marinara sauce on the pasta was nothing special, although the pasta was perfectly al dente. It comes out pretty quickly so it's not a bad option for a quick lunch but there are better options nearby.

A fantastic Café to have a brunch or a (not so light) but small lunch. Serving traditional Italian pasta and pizza dishes for very affordable prices. The pizzas are moderately large and the pastas are very home made. They also serve some fantastic cakes and of course home made gelato ice cream. Perfectly small, local looking and humble enough. Nothing too fancy. The core-focus of the dishes is authenticity and good service. The cafe also sells lots of italian goods, such as meats, cheeses, coffee, sweets, jarred olives and canned tomatoes.
I had the pleasure of trying their delicious potato

If your around Farringdon on a weekend morning, drop past the institution called Terroni's of Clerkenwell and you'll be teleported back to old Italy. There is a historic Italian catholic church next door (St Peters 1863) and after each service generations of Italians spill into the streets as well as Terroni's for an espresso and a chat including all the clichéd hand waving and flat caps etc.
We had the mandatory espresso's (excellent) and 'The Italian breakfast' (refer image) which consisted Sliced mortadella, rocket, sun dried tomatoes on toasted focaccia. Delicious

Mamamia!!! Buono buono!!!! Fabulous deli with cozy deco! Varies of Italian biscuits and canned products, of course, tasty sponge in little package and with milky fillings! Mortadella! Omg, my favourite place along clerkenwell rd. seriously, try the simmenthal beef!!! And those biscuits and sweet packaged sponges, much tasty than any branded sponges and biscuits you find in British stores .

Great Italian deli - yes it is expensive but everything here is top quality. Friendly service and great selection of all things delicious and Italian. This is one of my treat destinations - I only pop in once a month but always wonder why I have not been back sooner. Great cheese and cold meats - the perfect place for grabbing delicacies for a romantic picnic when the sun finally comes out. Great pasta flour selection.....and other staples for the store cupboard.

Terroni is, for all intents and purposes, a clone of Veneticus, just up the street. It's another Italian deli featuring cured meats, various cheeses, take-home pastas, sauces, sweets, and some high-end wines from the motherland.
I opted to compare the made-to-order sandwiches and after asking for recommendations, I ended up with a simple panino with spicy salami, a spiced cheese from southern Italy (reportedly where they're into their capsaicin), and some marinated artichokes. Dining in resulted in my focaccia being served on a plate with some bonus side salad drizzled in oil and balsamic

This place is great! Family run and it shows. There's a real atmosphere in this shop, especially when it's busy and they have a touch of the 'devil may care' about the speed of their service a blessing and a curse in central London, but the service is always good and it adds to the charm.
They sell a variety of cooked meats and cheeses in their chiller cabinet, and various cakes, sweets, pasta and wine too. I hear they also do sandwiches at lunch time, but have yet to get there for it.. All of their produce is perhaps slightly more expensive than at the supermarket, but
