An eye exam is extremely important and ensures that your eyes stay healthy. Not only can they detect whether you need glasses, but they can also detect other common medical conditions. At Orr & Simpson, we recommend that you book an eye test every 2 years, but your optometrist will advise you on this according to your situation.
Regular eye examinations are important for everyone, even for those of us who have no known eye problems. We will take the time to listen to your reasons for visiting us and tailor the examination to your needs. The eye examination measures far more than you might think, in addition to checking your vision, focusing and eye health we look for signs of general health conditions too.

Best equipped optician I’ve ever been to in over fifty five years of wearing glasses! They have better scanning capabilities than Ayr Hospital, automated systems for eye testing and the people are lovely.
They work with Ayr Hospital doing Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) scans to save you waiting at a clinic at Ayr Hospital where the equipment is frankly not as good as at Orr & Simpson.
Douglas Orr also works closely with the Ophthalmology team at Ayr Hospital and is extremely knowledgeable about eye conditions.
During lockdown I have had two occasions where I needed to get some treatment
