We are a friendly rural Pre-school based in the village of Clipston, Northamptonshire (close to Market Harborough). We provide early years learning to children between the age of two and a half and five years old. The Pre-school is located in the same beautiful rural building as Clipston Primary School.
Please call us if you have any questions or are thinking about registering your child with us. Stepping Stones Pre-school is dedicated to providing an environment for children where they can learn through play, the basic skills which make their entry into 'big school' so much easier. Children are encouraged to become more confident and independent and develop their own personalities.

Services
Stepping Stones is a Pre-school located within the beautiful countryside of Clipston, Northamptonshire. Based in the Grade 2 listed school house at the heart of the village, we aim to provide the highest quality of early years learning and childcare.
We are proud that the fundraising from our committee enables us to have a generous ratio of staff to children (of at least 1:5), meaning that the team can focus wholeheartedly on the needs and interests of every child. We became one of the first Pre-schools in our area to setup and run a weekly Forest School which is available for all children in their Pre-school year.

3 and 4 year olds in England are entitled to 15 hours of free early education each week for 38 weeks of the year, and NEW IN 2017, if the child's parents both work you may be eligible for up to 30 hours free funding. It also greatly helps us cover running costs if we request additional voluntary contributions on a half termly basis - suggested contribution of 1.50 per day for snack provision and 7.00 for Forest School.
The philosophy of Forest Schools is to encourage and inspire individuals of any age through an innovative, long term, educational approach to outdoor play and learning in a woodland environment.
We have been given permission to run our Forest School at the playing fields on the outskirts of Clipston village on the border between Northamptonshire and Leicestershire, and we are incredibly grateful to the Clipston Playing Fields Association for the use of this space.

On Thursdays, we also run a Forest School day each week (available to children over 3 years only). We will always try to be flexible where possible and it helps us to know as far ahead as possible if you will be changing the hours your child attends, as we can then offer available slots for other children.

A real gem of a preschool! All 3 of my children benefited enormously from attending Stepping Stones in terms of their confidence, independence and sociability. This is a fantastic setting with experienced staff and a great focus on preparing children for school. The weekly forest school was a bonus for us too.

Our daughter has loved Stepping Stones since Day 1! She has made some great friends and the staff are highly experienced and welcoming. She is clearly being very well taught and is getting ready for big school while having lots of fun. Forest School on Thursdays is a particular highlight but their time is filled with interesting, challenging and enjoyable activities on a daily basis. We look forward to our younger daughter attending the setting later in the year. We're so glad we found it.
