Services
Currently, we have two resident highly qualified and experienced chartered clinical psychologists, Dr Rachel Benford-Brown and Dr Lynda Teape. They were part of the 2006 cohort of the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Programme at The University of East Anglia. Since this time, they have both worked in services across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire and each have over 10 years experience of working in the NHS.
I am a chartered clinical psychologist, registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and with the government's Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist. I have over 10 years NHS experience. I have also worked with voluntary organisations, including Women's Aid.
We offer a broad range of well-established psychological therapies which are found in NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) guidelines. It may be that another professional has recommeneded that you find a therapist to offer a particular therapy or you may be unsure which therapy would be most suited to improving your difficulties.
Dr Rachel Benford-Brown and Dr Lynda Teape are both highly trained and experienced clinical psychologists. If after reading our profiles, you have a preference to work with one of us, then please state this when you contact us. If no preference is stated, we will offer you an assessment with the person with the next available appointment slot.
CBT is a psychological therapy with a good evidence-base. Research has shown that it is effective in treating a wide range of emotional and physical health conditions in adults. CBT is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) for the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders.
