We are an Ofsted registered Adoption Support Agency, since 2014, and offer Specialist Assessments and Therapy for Adoptive and Special Guardianship Families, funded by the Adoption Support Fund.

Our role is to assess and evaluate comprehensively each piece of information in the context of all other information, bringing to bear our psychological expertise in order to synthesise a meaningful and informative opinion so that we might assist the judge in their decision-making.

CTC's assessment process integrates salient information from multiple sources, enabling us to gain insight into the internal world of each client. To arrive at this meaningful understanding, we use a range of methods including observation, discussion and the use of standardised psychometric questionnaires and measures, as well as more creative and expressive tasks.
The distinctive dynamics and identity of adoptive family life means many children and their families face both ordinary and extraordinary challenges. Support can often be difficult to access through usual routes. CTC is an Ofsted registered Adoption Support Agency. Since registration in 2014, we have developed successful partnerships with organisations such as Together for Adoption, Cumbria County Council and Adoption in Merseyside.
At CTC, each therapeutic relationship is built on a foundation of non-judgement, warmth, empathy, confidentiality and a genuine desire to support you in your development. We also offer Person Centred Counselling, which is a supportive and semi-structured approach to exploring and understanding your difficulties and enabling you to reach solutions for unhelpful patterns.
