Hello there, I've been successfully teaching guitar & bass in the city of Peterborough UK since 1994. I work from a spacious custom built teaching studio, with an extensive music library, studio recording facilities, amplifiers and drum programs.

As a member of The Registry Of Guitar Tutors I can also enter students for their graded exams. Plus offering valuable advice on song writing, recording techniques, forming a band and playing live.

Richard caters for all abilities, from complete beginners through to more advanced players looking to improve their guitar technique. Richard's approach to teaching bass guitar is to give you a solid foundation and understanding of bass and its role within music- Whether you want to learn Rock or Indie bass styles, traditional blues rock & roll Funk and Jazz bass, or have a passion to be a Metal or Punk Bass player Richard can take you through the building blocks of bass that apply to these Genres.
Rich is an inspiring and talented teacher who really cares about his students. He passes on all the experience of his many years in music and I've loved learning with him. He has taught me not just bass but about how to get the best tone, playing live, how to set up a rig, and most of all he is always there to give me a confidence boost when I need one.
Where are lessons held? Richard's teaching studio is at 96 Alma Road - If you are driving the quickest and most direct access is turning off from Dogsthorpe Road. Parking permit passes are provided to park your car either outside the house or just round the corner on Waterloo Road. There is a waiting room provided for students or parents.

Richard is an incredible teacher with exceptional knowledge of both the guitar and bass. He is very welcoming to both beginners and more advanced students. Richard is also very patient and accepting if you're having trouble. He is very enthusiastic and will teach exactly what you want and need to know! Highly recommend!

After playing bass for over 20 years I decided to take some lessons to hone my craft. Richard was outstanding. I have learned so much from him. He has a patient and easy style accompanied by a genuine passion for music and a massive knowledge base. He is also always ready with guidance and support. A top man and an outstanding tutor.

Richard is a great guitar and bass teacher who is highly dependable. You're going to learn all you need to become a fantastic player. He will teach you chords and techniques in many different genres and you'll have lots of fun dissecting and breaking down your favourite guitar and bass players from your favourite bands. Highly recommended for beginners and advance players alike and for all age groups. He also has many connections for musicians in Peterborough and the surrounding areas, so connecting and learning with him will also be a great way to network with other players and bands. Highly recommended
