Jolly Learning was founded in 1987 and started selling the first of the Jolly Phonics products five years later. It uses the synthetic phonics method of teaching the letter sounds in a way that is fun and multi-sensory, enabling children to become fluent readers. Since then we have been part of the remarkable transition that has made this kind of teaching mainstream around the world.
Sue Lloyd taught for over 20 years in Woods Loke Primary School (Suffolk). Within her school, she began to use phonic methods, and developed and improved them from research, advice and the practical experience she and her colleagues gained. She has been the author of many phonics books and resources in the Jolly Phonics programme, and is viewed as an expert in her field.

Apart from the excellent quality and range of Jolly Learning's products, I have been so impressed by the support and expertise of the staff a this company. I have used Jolly Phonics Resources since 2002! They have continued to improve with the times and demands of new technologies. The materials are research driven and have been have been developed to optimize learning for all children. I have witnessed struggling readers who, as they "learned the sounds of the language", quite excitedly began to understand how to read words and write sentences. Kindergarten children, who are developmentally ready, learn to red and write effortlessly. Jolly Phonics materials are designed to help all students learn the English Language "one step at a time"! Well done
