The Barkley is a Dog Hotel with a difference. Founded by Pierre Sanan in 2014, The Barkley provides a premium home away from home experience for your four-legged friend. We cater to a very small number of dogs in our own home, cared for by highly experienced canine professionals. We have a fully qualified trainer covering a wide range of skills.
We are licensed and fully insured. We are committed to ethical force-free practice and continued professional development. Pierre hails from Jo'burg, South Africa, where he grew up with rescue bull breeds, learning about rehab and rescue with his best doggy chum, Buddy. Pierre runs The Barkley which he opened in 2014, following on from a career in print design, and has never looked back.

The Barkley has a limited number of spaces in a home environment, giving each dog plenty of attention, exercise, enrichment, rest, and love. We are fully insured and licensed and pride ourselves in providing a premium experience for our guests. Before you confirm your booking, we will arrange a 'meet & greet' with you and your dog and have a detailed chat with you about their requirements and to ensure they will fit in and have a happy stay.
The Barkley provides an exclusive home boarding service for a very limited number of dogs to stay in our home whilst you are away. We are fully licensed and rated 5 STARS under DEFRA's licensing system. We strive to make a home from home environment for your dog.
Before you confirm your booking, we will arrange a 'meet & greet' with you and your dog and have a detailed chat with you about their requirements and to ensure they will fit in and have a happy stay.Walks, socialisation, play, brushing, cuddles and rest provided. We can also provide your dogs with premium foods (Natural Instinct, Nature's Menu, Nutriment or our own grain-free premium kibble range) for an additional price.

WARNING DOG OWNERS
I was hesitant writing this review but I feel compelled to let warn other dog owners of the mistake I made. As a new dog owner, I took my pup to power hour every Saturday till he was about 6 months to make sure he was “well socialised”. I did however notice that when we were out of walks he would start lunging and trying to play with other dogs “ he’ll grow out of it” I thought to myself. Eventually I figured that running round crazy chasing dogs all day wasn’t doing anything for our relationship or his behaviour, only Resulting in one frustrated dog and an even

Duke has been coming here for several months usually once a week and he loves it he always comes back tired and goes straight to bed. The staff are amazing they always let me know how he is and send me pictures of him. They know who he is what he likes and they geniually care about the dogs they look after. I wouldn't send him anywhere eles! 🐕🐾

Completely outstanding establishment, our dog has been going every week to day care since we had him and he really loves going and doesn't want to leave ! You can tell all the staff are really passionate and care about all the dogs.
Superb long opening times which are a god send. The puppy play on Saturday is also marvellous value.

Amazing staff and facilities. They treat my dog Archie as if he is one of their own family members. Archie cannot wait to enter the building when he goes. They are very accommodating at working with me on sessions Archie can attend as I need to vary them from week to week. Never had an issue with anything and cannot recommend this place highly enough!

12 months ago I decided to send my Dog Gus to daycare and I can honestly say its one of the best decisions I ever made.
He's loved, looked after, and best of all comes home exhausted!
He's learnt to socialise a lot better, is more obedient and is now a master of the agility course.
Thank you Barkley and Co, I really cant recommend you enough!

Our dog Mylo (bichon frise) loves going to Barkley's, he can't wait to get in the building. Mylo was a very nervous and anxious boy when we first visited Barkley's but with the time, patience and expertise of the staff he is a changed dog.
All the staff are lovely, friendly and informative of what Mylo did and the doggy friends he had played with whilst he was at daycare and they genuinely car for all the dogs.The stay and play sessions on a Saturday are always lots of fun for both myself and Mylo.
Mylo is always exhausted and sleeps all afternoon after a session at Barkley's 🐾🐕🐶
