Our principal clinic in Hay on Wye offers purpose built, spacious facilities for the care of pets, horses and farm animals. There is extensive free parking and enough space to allow for easy turning of horse boxes and trailers. This is the site for hospitalisation of patients, as well as surgical procedures. Our main administrative hub is based in Hay too. Facilities include our well-equipped practice laboratory, operating theatre, dental suite, imaging suite and separate dog, cat and isolation wards.
Services
We are offering appointments in Talgarth, but the surgery hours are reduced. We are continuing to work in smaller teams and this means our rotas have had to be redesigned. Please call us and we will do our absolute best to offer you a suitable appointment. Our Talgarth clinic offers out-patient appointments for pets.

We have been with Hay vets for over 20years and we were glad to move to the new site with them many years ago when they transitioned into the new practice. In total they have cared for 5 dogs and three cats over many years. Recently we have had three occasions that required their expertise and remain confident in their expert knowledge and the support given.

Thankyou Hannah and Steph for looking after Tommy so well today. We are absolutely heartbroken here tonight and the house feels so empty but we couldn’t of hoped for nicer people to help our old boy sleep tight. He was in so much pain and after his stroke today we new he wouldn’t recover. You are such kind caring people and we can’t thank you enough for Tommy’s peaceful passing, lots of love for your kindness, Sarah and Chris xxxxxx

Have been using hay vets for a few years now for our horse and Barney has always been our vet of choice there. Despite being quite a distance from Hay they are always prompt and on time. Not only is the customer service always excellent from the reception to of course Barney but the quality of care received is always faultless. Barney is… knowledgable and has an excellent soothing manner around the horses that seem to put them (and us!) at ease immediately. He is always thoughrough in his treatment and investigations and explains everything he's doing. I have seen many vets over the years

Thank you Hay Vets for saving our dog Doris’s life not just once but twice! Doris ate rat poison and Hay Vets have been diligent both times in getting to the heart of the problem quickly and caring for her so well. Every time I come to the surgery I am struck by how kind each and every member of the team is from receptionists to nurses to vets and how much they genuinely seem to care about the animals. Despite the trauma, Doris loves visiting the vets and didn’t want to come home this time! Thanks to all.
